“No problem. I understand,” he said.
“No, you don’t understand,” she said, and her gaze settled on the side stool. “Wait, you haven’t even drank your coffee yet?”
“No, I haven’t. Actually, I don’t really feel like it right now.”
“You don’t feel like it? But when you arrived, I asked you which you would prefer - coffee or tea.”
He nodded. “And I chose coffee.”
“Yes. So, you don’t want the coffee? Maybe you would prefer tea instead?”
“No. Please no tea.”
“Ohh. Then juice, maybe?”
He sighed heavily. “Miss, could you just leave the drinks for now? I would have asked you not to bother with anything at all. But your insistence pushed me to accept coffee, which, as you can see, I haven’t even taken.”
“Is it because it is not hot enough? Or do you prefer it cold? Or with some cream? Or milk?”
“Nothing. Nothing at all, okay? I don’t want to take anything at all, miss.”
“But that is odd, or rather unusual. Everyone does take some sort of light refreshments.”
“I know, but, honestly, that is not my concern right now.”
She smiled. “You cannot wait to meet with the MD, right?”
He nodded hastily. “That is all that matters to me right now.”
“I understand. I was once in your shoes, too. The excitement is so strong and feverish. You literally cannot think of anything else.”
“Exactly. You know how I feel, don’t you?"
