I would like to show children that they can have an adventure. If something doesn’t go the way they had planned it’s ok to take it in another direction, to be resilient, to work with what has happened without making it out to be a big deal. You just look at the situation and improve upon it. See how you can make it better without making a big deal about it. See the challenge and turn it into a success. Life has ups and downs just look at the problem and see the upside. Problems or opportunities (problems are just opportunities in disguise) they are just challenging us to use our critical thinking and by doing that we learn how to create happiness. It’s through the journey that we learn what we are capable of doing. So go build a pool it takes time but you can do it. I have worked in the classroom as a teacher and I do see that children have an innate understanding and compassion to help each other, they naturally want to be useful. We don’t always have to point out a person having a bad day and how to Make it better. Ronnie’s pool demonstrates that challenges are opportunities for us to get creative with our thinking. It shows us to look at the bright side of everything. And we have the ability to create a new adventure... OH the possibilities. In my book The Boy of Joy, yes it is sad that their youngest brother has passed away and Now you have the opportunity to find ways to connect with each other by finding hearts in nature clouds or Rainbows and beautiful sunsets. The traditional way of writing stories is by presenting a problem. Then making it into a bigger deal then it seems. Finally bringing forth a solution and everyone is happy. When it doesn’t have to be like that. We can create characters that children can be empathetic with. They can feel like they are a part of the story. Then we help them see all the possibilities that can unfold with in the story. Finally we create a beautiful opportunity to get to the desired results. This is the way I present my stories to children. I use the growth mindset (I prefer to say growth mind expander, as nothing is set) approach in writing because it expands our hearts and our minds to see the possibilities as something to be excited about not something that has to be a mountain to overcome. Be empathic See the Possibilities Create an opportunity
