About this listen

The thrilling third book in Chris Colfer's number one New York Times best-selling A Tale of Magic...series

Brystal Evergreen is running out of time. It's almost been a year since she made a deal with Death to find and destroy the Immortal in exchange for her life and she still hasn't found a single clue about who or where the Immortal is.

To make matters worse, something dark and malignant has risen from deep within the earth, threatening life as we know it. To stop this new evil, the fairies and witches must work with all the kingdoms and territories, including the Righteous Brotherhood and their Army of the Dead.

But is the threat more familiar than they expected? And why are a secretive group of Sorcerers convinced Xanthous Hayfield is connected to it?

Captivating

I bought the first in this series as a “too many credits” purchase and was instantly hooked. The story is fantastic, has intrigue, betrayal, love and humour all wrapped up on one, with some twists you just wouldn’t expects. I ended up binge listening to all three books in as many days. Although aimed at young adults, it’s suitable for all ages. If you’re a fan of School for Good and Evil, this is for you.

Ha haaaaaaaah!

I haven't been so exited or enjoyed listening to a book this much, since 'Order of the Phoenix' I love his stories and this prequal is (dare I say it) Even better than the original series. My neighbours must think me mad, because I can't stop saying 'Ah haaaaaah' Alongside Chris.

Enchanting

Chris Colfer brings magic to life with the third book in the magic series. Brystal struggles to find the immortal she is supposed to kill until she discovers an amazing temple. Meanwhile, Xanthous runs from the emperor with Elric the elf prince as he is held responsible for fires the immortal is creating. Pressured to help, the remaining fairies and witches search the help of the Snow queen to destroy the immortal.
This book is on the whole one that you can't stop listening to and should be highly recommended to eager readers with a sense of adventure.
