Beyond Strange Lands is an action-packed and fantastical multi-cast audio drama that journeys across the Australian outback.

In 1982, the famous paranormal expert Grant Peters went missing while filming his TV show Legendary Australia. His wife Melissa was never able to find him. When Melissa herself disappears nearly forty years later, her daughter Fiona and grandson Ethan trace her to the small outback town of Boulia. There they discover a collection of old audio tapes that Melissa left behind: a set of clues they must follow if they're to solve this mystery in time. Insidious forces will stop at nothing to destroy them, and an impossibly ancient menace lurks deep beneath the ground, waiting for the chance to strike....

If you like HPL you will love this.

I'm a bit of an agnostic about Dr. Who, but this weaves in the best bits of that, with HPL and the more nutty scifi themes.

Silly Romp

Hammed up fun. Ghosts, giant toads evil monsters possessed people. Easy listening. Not class drama.

B movie hokum

It's fun. It's free. I gave up listening on headphones about halfway through as it didn't add anything after a while but it's worthwhile starting in stereo. There is some wonderfully hammy acting just to add to the atmosphere. Shades of The Mummy crossed with Scooby Do.

A fun Aussie style Stranger Things!

Deliciously pulpy, it’s a fun ride and worth a listen. Enjoyed the adventure and sci fi/paranormal elements in the story. Awesome use of binaural sound and music.

Another decent dramatised Audio story Book

Ok worth a listen but not one of the best I've heard. Could have been better some of the performances were good but sometimes a bit much. The story was mostly good entertaining at least.

Bit quirky

It was a bit too quirky for me and the actor who voiced Mum; Fiona, how 'Ethan' didn't kill her I don't know, she shouted everything in an angry voice.

A twisted and intense adventure

I have enjoyed this story immensely. The sound work and performances were excellent and made me want to be present in the recording studio at the time of production because they sounded so well scripted and executed.
The story at times went a little over my head because it was so very intense and complex but I understood it and enjoyed it throughout.
I highly recommend this free Audible Original.
