About this listen
Book one in a trilogy following one family over 40 years on an East London estate, Blood Sister is nonstop drama, perfect for fans of Kimberley Chambers and Mandasue Heller.
There are two ways out of Essex Lane Estate, better known as The Devil's Estate. You make good, or you turn bad.
Jen Miller is determined not to make the same mistakes her mother did. She's waiting to find herself a good job and a decent man. Her younger sister, Tiff, is running errands for a gangster and looking for any opportunity for fun and profit. But she might just be in over her head....
The choices you make and the plans you have don't always turn out like you expect. Especially if you live on The Devil's Estate. When their paths cross with the unstoppable Dee - a woman with her own agenda - Jen and Tiff will learn that lesson the hard way.
At least they can rely on each other. Can't they?

Loved this book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Abigail Harriman read this beautifully. Her accent lends itself perfectly to the characters of the book. I was hooked from the first few moments and found myself eager to hear the next chapter. There were a few twists and turns and a surprise or two. I was very sorry when it ended. It was the first Dreda Say Mitchell book I've listened to and I shall certainly buy some more.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Tiffany- wild, untamed and vile to begin with but she really came through..... although a there was a cheeky little surprise return of her former self at the end.
What does Abigail Hardiman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Abigail brought the characters to life, the subtle Jamaican tones in Dee's voice, the softness of Jen and the wheeler dealer that was Nuts.... all done excellenty. She made you feel like you knew the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

DISAPPOINTED
don't know what has happened to Dreda but this is possibly one of the worst books I have ever listened to. red all her books but this inevitable is awful.

Had to abandon listening. Language too bad for me and didn't enjoy narrator
The language was too much swearing and narrator was not easy on the ears!
Shame as storyline is probably good
