Having sold over half a million copies in the UK alone, his overview of Christianity has been imitated many times, but never outdone. Mere Christianity brings together Lewis’s legendary broadcasts from the war years; talks in which he set out simply to ‘"explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times."

On account of the superficial points of agreement between Islam and Christianity, many don't see how tremendously deep the divides between them really are, and fewer still have considered the evidence for each faith. How is jihad different from the Crusades? Can we know the life of Jesus as well as the life of Muhammad? What reason is there to believe in one faith over the other, and what difference can the Gospel really make?

Story
This provocative audiobook starts with an unlikely interview in which America’s foremost skeptic builds a seemingly persuasive case against the miraculous. But then Strobel travels the country to quiz scholars to see whether they can offer solid answers to atheist objections. Along the way, he encounters astounding accounts of healings and other phenomena that simply cannot be explained away by naturalistic causes. The audiobook features the results of exclusive new scientific polling that shows miracle accounts are much more common than people think.

Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity.

Summary
New York Times best seller!
Over 5 million copies sold!
Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Former atheist and Chicago Tribune journalist Lee Strobel takes an investigative look at the evidence from the fields of science, philosophy, and history. In this revised and updated bestseller, The Case for Christ, Lee Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools such as Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis, asking hard-hitting questions - and building a captivating case for Christ's divinity.
Strobel asks challenging questions like:
- How reliable is the New Testament?
- Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible?
- Is Jesus who he said he was?
- Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?
Winner of the Gold Medallion Book Award and twice nominated for the Christian Book of the Year Award, Strobel's tough, point-blank questions read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure.
This edition includes scores of revisions and additions, including updated material on archaeological and manuscript discoveries, fresh recommendations for further study, and an interview with the author that tells dramatic stories about the book's impact, provides behind-the-scenes information, and responds to critiques of the book by skeptics.
Also available: The Case for Christ Spanish edition, kids' edition, and student edition.

Excellent book, but for one GLARING mistake
Lee Stroebel is extremely well spoken, and he reads the book with good inflection. I do however, have an issue with the necessity of calling ISRAEL after the FAKE made-up name it was given AFTER the Romans sacked and destroyed Jerusalem, and took all the Jews into forced exile. The name "palestine" was a direct INSULT, aimed at humiliating the Jews, and was bestowed upon ISRAEL by the conquering Roman General who was peeved at the manner that the Jews stood up to them.
The land, much of it then STOLEN by surrounding countries and then desecrated even further by little warlords IS ISRAEL, and a lot of countries should, in fact, be returning the land they appropriated TO ISRAEL, not trying to claim it as something it was never, and is not!

A good solid piece of work on the most important subject matter. If I had a criticism it would be that it could have been more balanced as it did come across a bit one sided. I believed before and believe after with maybe a few more facts to back up my belief but I always had faith.

This book is a blockbuster bestseller for a reason
Faith is such a powerful, amazing and blessed gift from God but just having faith isn’t enough for me. I’m hungry and thirsty for more and stronger faith. Faith is like fuel. Faith energizes you. It makes you feel so good. The good news is that all Christians can increase and strengthen their faith through prayer (I.e., by asking God to strengthen their faith) and through research that involves scholarly written works. By the way, these written works are also a gift from God because God inspired those who wrote those “faith building” books. “The Case For Christ” is one such book. It is a very powerful “faith builder.” If you are already a person of faith this book will help to strengthen your faith. If you lack faith this book will inspire you and lead you to the Holy Spirit who can grant you the gift of faith - the most important, precious, and valuable gift that you will ever receive other than the eternal salvation that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ won for you by his sacrifice on the cross for our sins. Happy reading.

I have always felt a barrier between Christ and myself. The desire to connect has always been there, but I've always had so much doubt. However, I have never taken the time to check the facts for myself. I've leaned all too heavy in my misunderstandings. This book called to me, and I'm glad I answered. It has impacted me, and I'll never be the same. For that, I am grateful.

Cradle Catholic finally: wow... it really happened
Sheesh, I reconciled with my church about 15 years ago and thought I was doing pretty well, but my first thought during this book was that The Way is going to be very tedious now that I actually have no wiggle room and know it to be true after all. I am praying for Grace from the Holy Spirit to help me process this profound revelation. I know I'll do it, but it's a big leap from thinking you are a Christian to actually living like one all the time. I feel as though I am beginning all over again. Good bye, childhood, hello eternal joy!

I have the kindle book and the audio. I would read along with the narrator. The is methodically laid out. There is so much evidence that Jesus lived, died and came back to life. I'm already a believer so this book will help me when I speak with people who don't. With this information I can speak rationally and not be preachy.

A definite read!
For those who are skeptical about the claims of Jesus or Christians, this book looks at many of the questions most people have and strives to find the truth. For those who know who Jesus was but want to gain more knowledge about the historical and factual information about his life and claims, this is also a great book. I found it easy to listen to while hearing the facts. I wondered about listening to a book that would take hours to get through but found each chapter compelling and then was ready to hear more. It will be worth your while to listen to this book no matter what you believe!

Easy to follow Evangelical apologetics
If you are expecting Lee Stobel's transformation story from atheist to Christian, you'll likely be disappointed in this book. But, if you're looking for replies to common ( and some not so common) questions against Christianity, from the reliably of the New Testament to the likelihood of the resurrection, you'll find plenty to like here.
Stobel does a nice job of summarizing responses from leading Evangelical scholars in an easy to follow format. But, he does not act like a skeptic nor an investigative journalist here. He fawns over the credentials and responses of his interviewees, readily accepts the views he already agrees with (he's been a pastor for 20 years by the time conducts these interviews), denigrates the people (derisively labeled as "liberals" or "left-wing Christians," would a skeptic see these labels negatively or the already converted?), dismisses the views he doesn't, and doesn't talk to any skeptic or differing opinions or interpretations of the data. He does have tough questions for his interviews, but his one-sided reporting I hope is not indicative of the state of investigative, open-minded journalism he espouses in the subtitle of the book.
