Summary

It’s Christmas 1880 in London’s East End, and a dying Irish girl leaves her baby in the care of the Sisters of Clemency. The nuns raise little Ettie O’Reilly as their own. But the lives of the nuns and orphans are soon crushed by an unexpected turn of events. Ettie is at her lowest ebb when she is betrayed by the boy who has promised his undying love and loyalty. She is faced with the revelation of a heart-wrenching secret.

Excellent

I really enjoyed listening to this book, I didn’t want to stop. The twists and turns to it were so good

Amazing novel.

Such a well written story. And read by one of the best narrators on audible. More like this please. Carol.

just ok

The narrator spoils the story for me her voice is so boring, it doesn't matter how old the male character is she make them sound like they are all OPA and I picture them short old with whiskers then they turn out to be in their 20s, I try not to buy books that she is narrating
