The story:
Once again, reluctant hero Commissar Cain is catapulted into glory in the fourth instalment of this tremendously popular series. Escaping from a disastrous space battle, the commissar and his malodorous sidekick Jurgen crash-land behind enemy lines. Even the sly Cain can't avoid a straight fight this time, as the only way out is to round up what few troops they can find and fight their way back to safety. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of barbaric alien orks stand in their way.

Fantastic.
This series is simply golden. Curiously amazing mix of humour,good combat scenes and interesting story. Ciaphas and Jurgen are a fantastic pair ! Narration is top notch,for every actorvtaking part.

Exiting and Enjoyable
Awesome series overall, like previous books this one does not dissapoint what so ever. At no point in this book did I ever feel it was boring or slow. Loved it!

Good performance, dull story
The narrators are perfect as usual but the story is quite lacking. Compared to the story of Cane I listened so far, this plot seems too straight forward. But for the sake of completing the whole series I think it worths the listen. (Preferably if u can get it at 2 for 1, if not skip and wait)

This book should been made into game.
I come back to listen to this book over and over because this story is never get old. Every everytkme there is alway a new little details that you have not noticed before. Great Narrated by all of them. even tho at first I don't really like Penelope Rawlins that explains thing in the middle of the story but it turn into great highlights and great rest stop from the action. Still relisten to this day ❤️
