Summary

She ran away to see the world. He was left behind with the fallout. Do these childhood sweethearts still have a chance at happily-ever-after?

Salt Lick, Kentucky. Prodigal child Clem Calhoun is home to beg for forgiveness. But returning after a seven-year stint in the military has her more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Because she knows sooner or later, she’ll come face-to-face with the ranch hand she dumped at the altar.

Boone Methany has never gotten over being jilted. But despite his pain, his unwavering loyalty to the Calhoun family keeps him under a greedy neighbor’s threat: Marry his daughter, or he’ll burn Boone’s adoptive cattle station to the ground. Yet his protective plans are thrown off-kilter when Clem rides back into his life and sparks start to fly.

Sitting across from Boone every week at Sunday dinner has Clem wondering why she ever walked away. And torn between his new fiancée and his former flame, Boone’s mind is at war with his heart.

Trapped beneath layers of secrets, can they confess their true desires?

Coming Home is the first book in the sweet Whiskey River Road Western romance series. If you like quick-witted heroines, angsty relationships, and small-town settings, then you’ll adore Kelly Moore’s steamy saga.

Loved it!

Kelly Moore is an exceptional author, she captivates her audience with her beautifully written words and fascinating characters. Coming Home, the first book in the Whiskey River Road, is a tale about regret, growth, healing, family, love, and one man's vendetta. The storyline is emotionally charged with excellent family drama, humour, and plot twists. The characters are authentic with depth to their personalities. I genuinely liked Clementine (Clem) and Boone and was wholly impacted by their heartfelt journey. I realise why Clem had to leave, even so, my heart hurt for Boone. I absolutely adore him, despite the heartache and rejection, he remained loyal to Clem's family.

Sera Sharr did a fantastic job with the narration. She captured the various characters' personalities, emotions, and dynamics, breathing life into them. This was an incredible story, I cried, I smiled, and I even laughed out loud. I love everything about this audiobook and highly recommend it! I listened to a promotional copy of the audiobook, and my unbiased review is given voluntarily.

Another winner by Moore

Wow, what can I say. This is an awesome start to this series. Moore is an amazing author no matter what she’s writing about. This series is going to be following one amazing family. I fell in love with all the characters even Margaret. There’s so much going on in this story that it pulls you in and holds your attention so well that when you reach the ending it just makes one smile knowing there’s more to come for all of them! My heart fell for Boone right along side of Clem. And Clem was such a southern spitfire. This audiobook had me smiling, cringing after crying if fat tears. And it left me wanting to get onto the next book.

The narration was great, Sera is new to me. She does character distinctions really well and I’m excited for the next book.

I received this audiobook at my quest and this is my honest opinion.

Coming Home

Sometimes you are just not ready for what life has in store for you. Clem needed to see what was out there to appreciate what she had at home. Leaving Boone at the alter was hard but she was just not ready to take that step. It never meant she did not love him. I think Clem's mom was one of my favorite characters. I wish their was more of her in the story. While you may think this is just a love story its so much more their is lots of action and mystery to the story. And I absolutely love the fun names Clem comes up with. The narration was nice and I think she nailed Clem's character. Thanks Audiobook Obsession for the recommendation.

Finally Home

You know the saying there is no place like home, I think this applies to this book. This book was just like coming home. This is a great second chance romance. Clem and Boone was amazing. Narrator is new to me and did an amazing job. Looking forward to more stories from both author and narrator.

Clem is home

Kelly Moore captures me every single time I listen to one of her books, but there is something extra special about this one. I am not sure what attracted me so much to it. It could be the second chance romance between Clem and Boone. It could be the incredibly strong woman Clem is, or the handsome, reluctant Boone. It could be the family dynamics of siblings and parents, hurt and love, anger and trust. It could be the crazy fiance, the evil villain or even the ranch itself. But what I think it is, is the magic all these things combined created. A real story, one that is easy to relate to. One where a woman decides what she wants to do with her life, no matter the consequences. It's the family that pulls together in times of crisis and the real love of a couple that stands the test of time. Moore has crafted a beautifully told story with all the emotions and feels. It will make you angry and frustrated, sad and crying, but most of all it will make you love and smile. I am looking forward to what is coming next with this family!

Sera Sharr is a new to me narrator and I think Kelly Moore has found a gem. She made this story come to life, like a movie in my mind. Her voices are spot on, easy to distinguish and fit each character. And that Texas twang just fit the bill. I loved her performance and can't wait for more.
