Didn’t want it to end!

Good story that left you guessing right up until the end. I shall look forward to listening to more books in the series

Gripping!

I enjoyed this book so much I was so engrossed I didn't expect all the amazing twists and turns. I will read this again it was so complex and at times I could almost believe it was true life it was gripping.

A wonderful experience!

When I began listening to this book at first my heart sank and I thought I’d made another mistake. Oh no, this was going to be another boring long haul, sending me swiftly to sleep each night.... I couldn’t have been more wrong. I actually gave up a whole day of my life, not doing things I really should have, because I couldn’t bear to stop listening. The narrator, who at first I thought rather slow and ponderous, was absolutely perfect. I’ll certainly be looking for more books read by him. The plot had so many twists and turns but didn’t stretch incredulity, and it wasn’t till almost the end that I began to see where the author was leading me. Beautifully written, beautifully read. I think I might just have another listen to wallow in the joy of a wonderful experience.

Keeps one listing

I've only listened to one other book by this author, The House Sitter, which I enjoyed. Diamond Dust is a similarly well-constructed and gripping, but entirely different, story with believable characters who are brought to life by the writer and the excellent reader. If you enjoy modern crime fiction, you'll enoy this book.

Poor narrator

This was the first I’d listened to in the series and I think it will be the last. The narrator had an elderly voice which didn’t suit the main character who was a relatively young 49. The story wasn’t bad or I would have given up after the first couple of chapters. I wasn’t drawn to Peter Diamond, he didn’t have the charisma for the main character.

My favourite Diamond book so far

I was so enthralled with the twists and turns in this story of Peter Diamond that I carried my iPad round the house with me to find out what happened next. There were some shocks along the way but this was the most riveting Diamond book so far. I,look forward to hearing the next one!

Thoroughly enjoyable

Excellent narration and plot, just wish they had split each chapter into its own file

Excellent story

Having just finished this the second book I have listened to written by Peter Lovesey, I can honestly say I really enjoyed it.

Well scripted and excellent narration with an unexpected twist at the end, totally recommended.

Really kept me guessing

Some might say it was slow moving but I enjoyed the slow build and became more and more curious as to how it would end. Great central character, great narration. Now looking for more in the series.
