About this listen
Presenting the fourth "R", rendering the remote, in theory and practice: education - digital, visual, narrative, each employing the principles of the others.
Nature-centered learning at a two-room school in a redwood grove suggests a reconsidered lesson plan, where technology shadows art and art creates technology. From the oral culture of preschool, we then advance to the written library that shapes abstract understanding.
Visual logic, as pattern recognition and sequential causality, then leads to complex conceptual understanding. As layered architectural insight is the essence of education, visual thought experiments that distill complexity to elemental simplicity make both learning and new futures possible.
At present, technology has a three- to five-year lifespan; it's always on the verge of being outdated. Yet, we will soon move beyond the on/off stage of digital to quantum computing, where yes and no can exist simultaneously. Are we ready?
