Summary

Dark forces are threatening everything that Dungeon Lord Edward Wright cares about...and they don’t expect what they’re about to get.

Only a few weeks have passed since the Battle of Burrova, and Edward and his friends are busier than ever improving the Haunt and protecting the surviving villagers.

Sadly, time is a scarce commodity in the world of Ivalis. Soon enough, Ed finds himself thrown in conflict against the man behind the mindbrood’s attack, a man who is seemingly capable of shrugging off mortal wounds and who is willing to unleash a devastating plague of undead against the Haunt and everyone inside.

Only the otherworldly powers of a Dungeon Lord may be capable of protecting the Haunt against the rapidly approaching danger...but can Edward remain the same man if he exposes himself to the corrupting influence of that very same power?

The second installment of The Wraith's Haunt is upon us, and Soundbooth Theater had a blast producing it! In the first book, Annie Ellicott played some of SBT's creepiest monstrosities. But in this book, she's taken on the entire female cast, including Kes and Lavy who were voiced by Jeff Hays originally, and a charming new character, Katarina Locksmith, the clever thief. Annie and Jeff have been honing their vocal chemistry, and the results speak for themselves!

The Soundbooth Theater team for this production:
Jeff Hays - Narration, Characters, Production Supervision
Annie Ellicott - Female voices
Dalton Lynne - Proofing, Editing
Griffin Malnar - Production, Editing, Mastering

A good sequel

Female voices weren't as good in this one as the first one, Kaga was my favourite character in this book the voice and character matched perfectly.

not sure

Personally i think that they should have left the narration the way it was in the first book i don't appreciate having all the femails characters performed by Annie ellicott

Another great book in (so far) 4 book series

I've listened to all 4 of these audio books and I have to say this series is top 3 I ever listened to. Period. And I actually do not like "gamification / LitRPG" concept in fantasy. That says a lot. The performance of the Soundbooth Theater is WOW, just... WOW. They really brought the book to life, I loved all the voices and effects. It may sound cheesy but in my opinion it's not just an audiobook it's an experience.

What I really did love about the book was that everything made sense. All actions had long-lasting reactions in the world. Character building was exquisite. It was amazing that even in book 4 so much from ALL previous books made perfect sense as if the author had everything figured out 4 books in advance. The mind brood idea was genius and how it fit in the world history and the impact of it. The main villain of book 4 was just soooo awesome. It was easy to almost agree with the main villain and think "maybe he is actually right !?" and that's what I call good writing. No soulless "haha I'm evil I want to destroy everything" but deep, meaningful stuff with seemingly real history, their own philosophy etc. Edward's crew and inquisition also had their share of great personalities.

Hugo, please do not even think of writing any spin-off books and concentrate on completing this story :) If Soundbooth team will narrate this this could end up being my favorite series ever. Big round of applause. *CLAP CLAP CLAP*

Excellent Return of the Dungeon Lord

Book 2 is a welcome return to the world of Ivalis for me. The world hangs together well. The narration and voicing for the characters is excellent.

Well....very nice !

Awesome story great humour and genuinely amazing performance. The voices and accents aren’t annoying as in some cases and some parts are ...well pretty deliciously dark and without the glitter and golden outlines of regular fantasy and logic of the”good guys”. Characters kill, make tough decisions, they bleed and the whole experience never feels like anything less then totally consuming.

Great story.

Great story, loved it, except for the Scottish accents. That apart loved the other characters voices.

GOOD BOOK

I have over 300 audible titles and I have to say that the narration and performance of this book is one of the best I've heard. It's a compelling universe with a great story and awesome characters

excellent

great series, eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. I like the restrictions in terms of spells per day. The main character is not O.P

Hands down the best performance I have ever heard

The story was decent and really picked up perhaps midway through or a little earlier. I'm not a person to gush, but both Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott were beyond amazing. As I continue to slog through my narrating training, they really showed me how far I have yet to go just to rise above not sucking. Their range of voices and the emotions they are able to convey are spectacular and really bring this story to life like no other. With the story being boxed in with mostly a single setting (the dungeon) I wasn't real fired up about continuing it. I would of course, but it wasn't one for which I waited upon pins and needles. It is now! Wow. Just wow. Jeff and Annie are the dynamic duo of narrating. No way I could pick a favorite between the two.
