Story
Enid Blyton's much-loved classic series, packed full of adventure and mystery. A river cruise through ancient desert lands will be an adventure in itself, think Philip, Dinah, Lucy-Ann and Jack. An adventure it certainly is, especially when Bill disappears and the children, along with Kiki the parrot, are trapped beneath a forgotten temple where no one has set foot for 7,000 years.

How has nobody ever strangled Julian?
If you could sum up Five Get Into A Fix in three words, what would they be?
Plutonium mining foiled.
What did you like best about this story?
My kids really enjoyed this. I thought it was even more pants than the usual famous 5 gubbins. Julian is beyond pompous, George is at her most unreasonable whinyness and their obsession with being independent (while having the obsequious lower classes cook for them) really grates in this one. Anyway, it got us to York and back without squabbles so it served its purpose.
What about Jan Francis’s performance did you like?
She saved the book in my opinion! I suspect she isn't Julian's biggest fan. I liked that.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Hell no.
Any additional comments?
Roll on Diana Wynne Jones!
