Summary

Stephanie Green isn't like most other doctors. Nearly every day, she confronts life-and-death situations behind the scenes at Heathrow, where the truth is almost always stranger than fiction.

From monitoring drug mules to treating refugees entering the UK and greeting and assessing any plane landing at Heathrow coming from affected epidemic areas, Dr. Green deals with any and all situations deemed to require a medical opinion at London's Heathrow Airport, often confronting dramatic situations on every shift. Through all of this, Dr. Green juggles 24-hour shifts and threats of a level four virus with the demands of running a home and looking after her two small boys while her husband works late most nights as a chef-owner of a gastropub.

Here, she reveals the exhilarating drama of working in the world's sixth busiest airport and what is required to make life-and-death decisions in the hidden no-man's-land of medicine, geopolitics, terror and tragedy that is The Heathrow Doctor.

Very informative and highly recommended for people who either love to know more about doctors day to day life and experiences or to those who are interested in how airports function . Learnt alot of new things about medical practitioners life too through shared experiences in the book.

Ok

Some interesting stories but not as gripping as some other medical memoirs I have listened to.

A very enjoyable listen

The only criticism I have is that the book is not long enough! It was a very enjoyable listen and I would have quite happily listened to another 4 hours of it . The narrator's voice is that of a classic English rose and the book was very easy to listen to.

Love it!

I would never suspect that some airports have doctors on site and this was nice discovery as whole story is amazing and worth to learn.
If you have any interest / experience in aviation and airport operations you will love it! Very interesting and good read. I really enjoyed whole book!!
Sometimes illness example may seem pretty simple but whole story is really good. Amazing book, really nice to listen.
If you don’t know much about aviation you will definitely find this book very informative and intriguing sometimes.
