Good story

Enjoyable story but I'm really sorry to insult the narration, not being able to do accents myself. The West Country accent wasn't great and was a bit annoying.

Good but

This is a great book! (brilliant performance) I don’t know if this has happened to anybody else but the audio said “chapter 16” in the middle of the tenth chapter, which I thought was quite confusing.. But over all it was a very great story line, scary but also not at the same time. Def recommend Emma Caroll books! Thanks! Bye!

Ghostly and good.

If you could sum up Frost Hollow Hall in three words, what would they be?

Atmospheric, vivid and charming.

What other book might you compare Frost Hollow Hall to, and why?

The only thing I can think of to compare this to is The Secret Garden if only for the the atmosphere it conveyed.

What about Penny Rawlins’s performance did you like?

Touching, and respectful of the words.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Ghostly awakenings and a secret shame.

Any additional comments?

Fabulous

A genius piece of writing

I really thought I was in the story as I listened. The characters werebelievable, and it was lovely to get to know them. Creepy at times, but not scary. I will definitely listen to more from this author. Brilliantly narrated.

A great find

If you could sum up Frost Hollow Hall in three words, what would they be?

A fairly traditional ghost story set in the 1880's, " Funny Scary Beautiful".

What was one of the most memorable moments of Frost Hollow Hall?

Just the casual cruelty and indifference shown to the maids by the powers that be when it suits them and the stoic little heroine.

What does Penny Rawlins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A great regional accent and understatement that wouldn't come across in print. Good to have an unusual accent for a change.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Tilly lost in the snow, near death but so calm.

Any additional comments?

Will look out for this author and narrator again, a book good for all ages a nice mystery and sometimes scarier than most books directed at young ones, a nice cosy scary though.

Amazing!

Really really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it, even though the truth revealed was a bit disappointing.
