Summary

Golden Son continues the stunning saga of Darrow, a rebel forged by tragedy, battling to lead his oppressed people to freedom from the overlords of a brutal, elitist future built on lies.

Now fully embedded amongst the Gold ruling class, Darrow continues his work to bring down society from within. It's a journey that will take him further than he's ever been before, but is Darrow truly willing to pay the price that rebellion demands?

big cliffhanger

Very few parts were boring. Darrow needs to stop super duper taking ownership if everything that happens.

and very good sequel for the first book. enjoyed it a lot

Just as good as Bk 1.

Our hero adjusts to life amongst the Golds...Or Gods to some of the lesser colours. All the ups and downs of the first book are still there with continued similarities of a Greek Tragedy or corrupt Roman Empire waiting to be brought down from inside. Lots of fighting and not just the space gun kind nicely breaks up some of the politics romance and bromance. 5 stars :)

Amazingly voiced, amazingly written and a story as old as time. If you listen to one series make it this!!

a sharp turn in an epic direction

I loved book 1, but this one... damn, it takes a change in both direction and pace, and all for the better , it opens up the world and story so much more, into a true space opera. it's grim, it's dark , it's emotional , can't wait to start book 3

Golden son

A great 2nd book in this series. Picks up a few months after the last one left off so don’t be confused by the new characters, you’ll grow to like them as much as the old set!

Couldn’t put it down!

A stunning sequel. If you liked the first book you’ll love the second.
As ever your kept on your toes not knowing what will happen next, plots within plots within plots. Pierce Brown continues to do an excellent job and developing the characters, bring them on their journey, growing them through their experiences - very tricky to do this well and naturally but he gets it spot on.

You’re brought on this rollercoaster (emotionally and dramatically) through some stellar writing and another brilliant performance by Tim Gerard Reynolds.

You love people, then you hate them, then you love them again.

Straight onto book three for me.

First rate story telling

Cannot recommend these books enough. just finished the audiobook of Book 2 and actually sat back in the long grass, gardening duties forgotten, as the climax to book 2 played out. A few swearwords have escaped my mouth whilst listening to the twists and turns as I've walked my dogs or dug away atthe garden and every so often I just stop so I don't miss a single thing.
Great characters, a plot which twists and turns and lifts you and drops you and read by a master of the craft.
As an avid consumer of literature with fantasy and sci-fi my most preffered, I was grinding my way through another book always knowing Golden Son was waiting. When I finally gave up on the book and started this 'un, I knew it was the right choice. Finding reasons to get out the house, walk the dog, gardening etc. just to get back to Darrow and Mars.
Think I'm just going to have to start Book 3 the moment I finish typing this.
I dont want the gorydamn thing to end my goodman.

Another great book by Pierce Brown

Following the Red Rising, this book continued where the last left. It starts full of suspense and keeps you enthralled to the end.
