About this listen
When a mysterious 18-year-old woman attracts the Laird of Inverness, Wallace, Clan Campbell is wary. For Bridget has appeared suddenly, with a harrowing tale too absurd to be true.
As Wallace's feelings grow for the beautiful woman, Bridget's feelings grow for another man. She is prepared to do whatever Alec wants to gain favor for her clan. But when Wallace's life is on the line, Bridget must make a choice. Do the evil that Alec wants or risk her own life to protect the man she has come to care about.

A lovely fantasy
A story of deception, betrayal and strength. A roller coaster ride of emotions filled with angst, struggle then long awaited respite and peace. The narrator reads the book with passion and brings each character to life, fully encompassing each individual. Well written and well narrated.

An interesting twist to this tale
Highland Bandits is the third novella of Blair Keith’s that I have listened to as an audiobook. Good descriptive writing draws you into the story from the start and the tale includes an interesting twist.
The only annoying thing for me is that the summary of the book is slightly inaccurate. Firstly, Bridget’s “harrowing tale” rather than being “too absurd to be true” is actually something that happened to her, as described in the prologue; it’s just that for reasons that are made clear later in the book that event is represented as being a more recent occurrence. Secondly, the summary suggests that Bridget’s feelings grow for a man other than the Laird, Wallace (i.e. Alec). We actually learn that Bridget was in a relationship with Alec prior to becoming involved with Wallace, she fancied herself to be in love with him and allowed herself to be manipulated by him. Bridget’s feelings grow for Wallace and she discovers that real love is very different to what she thought; she comes to recognise that Wallace loves her (whereas Alec does not), that she loves Wallace (not Alec), and she refuses to follow through with Alec’s foul plot.
Andrew McDermott does another fantastic job with the narration of the audiobook. An easy and enjoyable listen.

What a dilemma!
What would you do if you just met a beautiful woman who lost her entire family and she moves into your clan's area? You begin a romantic relationship of course!! There's love, romance and twists in this incredible Highland book. A pleasure to listen to!
