Summary

Once a week Rosie Tipcott counts her blessings. She goes to sit on her favourite bench on the North Devon cliffs and thanks her lucky stars for her wonderful husband, her mischievous young daughters and her house by the sea.

But then her husband unexpectedly leaves her for another woman and takes the children. Now she must ask the question: what is left in her life? Can Rosie find the strength to rebuild herself? More importantly, does she even want to?

Easy listening. Fairly predictable ending. Not a very exciting read. I wouldn't recommend or read again.

Stunning narration for an incredible story!

Oh what a book. Amanda has done it again.
I absolutely feel in love with all the characters, especially Rosie and her beautiful girls. The story is so beautifully written and with such passion and honesty. I found myself with my hand over my mouth in shock, crying with laughter and tears of sorrow. Anger at some of the characters and the emotional investment that this story induced was just breathtaking. I am always floored by Amanda's ability to make her story's feel like real life and I often have to remind myself I'm not reading an autobiography and that it really is just fiction. It took me a while to read this one as I used the Audible companion and it was well worth it. Amanda narrated it herself, so the expression and emotion that is portrayed really comes across exactly right. It's given me a real sense of the characters, the resilience and determination of Rosie and the end is just brilliant.

Loved this book!

I really enjoyed this audio book, I normally listen to audio books at bedtime but I had to listen to this in the day too because I was staying up until the early hours to find out what happened next!
Very well narrated.

Such a pleasant surprise

I purchased this book in a sale and was so pleasantly surprised by how gripped I was. The story was all consuming and I found myself unable to stop listening. The authors performance is wonderful - clear, full of feeling and really brought the characters to life. I really liked the plot. A great book. I immediately purchased Another Love, written and narrated by the same author, which was equally fantastic, though more harrowing.

Loved this

I really enjoyed this story. Resonated with me because I've recently been left heartbroken as Rosie is in this book, and every emotion she felt was so true! Lost the story a little when she lay down and saw the lights, but soon realised it was fire. Enjoyed the ending too. Great listen.
