Summary

Huge, muscled, and sexy in plaid, Huck Barnett is one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever seen. Every woman in Rockhead Point wants a taste of the mountain man. Including me.

Except, after a drunken girls’ night out, instead of waking up with him in my bed, I wake up with a killer hangover and an inbox full of his texts telling me how reckless and dangerous my antics are.

Now my dad and brother want to find me a husband, and my ex-boyfriend has decided he wants the job. But I’m not looking for marriage, I’d rather have a few incredible nights with the annoying mountain hottie. Only it turns out he’s not looking for a hookup; he wants to own me.

Owned by the Mountain Man - Cora and Huck

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Huck, like his brother Beau from book one, was an over-the-top alpha, although I think Huck was much worse. He was determined to "breed" Cora so she would not leave him and be tied to him forever. I am looking forward to the next book being on Audible. Curt Bonnem and Avery Caris did a very good job with the narration.

great performance, not easy to get past plot point

I really loved the main characters together, especially the heroine. Great performances by the narrators. The problem I have is with the storyline. (spoilers ahead)

Though sexy to be sure, definitely lust at first sight, especially for Huck. Cora seems to be more sensible. and the actions of Huck reads as more obsessed than possessive. He holds her hostage at one point, but the big problem is him switching out her birth control pills in order to, and I quote him, "breed her." Cora is rightfully pissed off at having that choice taken away from her, but "she loves him," so got over it enough to stay with him. I thought the problem with her ex would play a bigger role, but it felt overused since it didn't amount to anything.
Love Cora overall. Love the performances. A good time if you can get past the infringement on a woman's right to choose.

Lost me with the forced baby

Wanted to love this book as much as the first one and it started out fun but the b-control/forced pregnancy story line was hard to swallow especially the way it was resolved with an I love you. Disappointing and not compelling. Not sexy or believable. On the fence about starting the third book.

Huck

I’m so sorry I wasted a credit on this book. The characters are not likable. I hate Huck so much and Cora is an idiot.
