Story
All great crime writers have their favourite creations. Similarly, every great sleuth has his, or her, own preferred method of deduction. Take the charming Parker Pyne, who relies upon an intuitive knowledge of human nature to solve the 'Problem at Pollensa Bay'. Or Mr Satterthwaite, who seeks inspiration through his collaboration with the enigmatic Mr Quin in 'The Harlequin Tea Set' mystery. Then, of course, there's Poirot, whose measured analysis of motive and opportunity is tested to the full in 'Yellow Iris', when he receives an anonymous call about a matter of life and death.

Story
Gipsy's Acre was a truly beautiful upland site with views out to sea, and in Michael Rogers it stirred a child-like fantasy. There, amongst the dark fir trees, he planned to build a house, find a girl, and live happily ever after. But as he left the village, a shadow of menace hung over the land, for this was the place where accidents happened. Perhaps Michael should have heeded the locals' warnings: "There's no luck for them as meddles with Gipsy's Acre."

Summary
Equally adept at putting together the pieces of a marriage or the fragments of a murder mystery, Mr Parker Pyne was possibly the world's most unconventional private eye, and certainly its most charming, as this collection of short stories reveals.
Critic reviews
"These extend beyond the classic murders to oddities such as the exploits of Mr Parker Pyne, roly-poly 'specialist in every kind of human trouble' who will, for a fee, cure his clients of unhappiness."( The Sunday Times)

Possibly my favourite Agatha Christie!
I love Agatha Christie, however hadn’t heard of Parker Pyne. I was interested by the summary of the first plot. Each case was so different, there are crossovers of mystery, detective and adventure genres. I so wish that there had been many more written as I actually prefer these to Poirot.

Typical Christie
What made the experience of listening to Parker Pyne Investigates the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed the short stories which I don't usually go for. However, I listen to these in the car and they proved easy to listen to, in the amazing Christie style, still left you guessing until the end in
What was one of the most memorable moments of Parker Pyne Investigates?
The last few stories contained more mysteries, poisoning and stolen jewels which I thoroughly enjoyed.
What does Hugh Fraser bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
As a fast reader, it was pleasant to have the calming, well spoken voice reading the story to me. It allowed me to ponder over who was responsible.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Nostalgic feelings.
Any additional comments?
Definitely worth a listen.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the wonderful Hugh Fraser narrate this series of short stories. Bite size Christie
Cute stories, excellently narrated by Hugh Fraser as usual. While they're cute, they're not nearly close to Christie's regular levels.
If you, like me, have consumed basically everything done by her, this will be a nice addition to that pool of works. If you're new to Agatha Christie you should pick some of her classics to get a better and more fair feel of her writing and storytelling.
