Pooches and a mystery what more could you want
I enjoyed this book and hope there are many more to come in this fun series. I liked the characters but the dogs made it a fun listen and the main character more likeable, the way she really cared for the animals in her charge. The mystery was good and I hadn't worked out who the killer was as everyone I suspected got ruled out, so it kept me listening and I got through the story all in one day.
Missy missing her dead husband puts all her time and attention into the town's animal shelter. This means having a pooches party at the local Halloween festival where the public gets to meet and greet hopeful pups that need new homes. But not ever body is happy with this idea and when someone kills the festival's organizer and the pooches biggest supporter Missy and her dogs feel threatened. The women's husband is soon arrested by Missy good friend asks her to look into it for him because he knows his friend is innocent and being in the counsel board it wouldn't look right for him to be asking questions. This however puts her on the killers radar and the killer targets Missy dogs but this causes the opposite reaction in Missy and Instead of backing down Missy stands up for her fur friends and starts investigating even harder. Can she get to the bottom of the murder before someone else is hurt?
I liked the narrator she uses a lot of emotion to bring each of the characters to life in this fun cozy mystery.

Pooches, Pumpkins, and Poison
Carolyn Ridder Aspenson wrote a great story with Pooches, Pumpkins, and Poison. I loved how the main character in the book went on to train shelter dogs to make them more adoptable. She was able to pour her time, energy, and funds into the shelter dogs. Bandit was a perfect example of how well her training was. The story has several suspects, but no clear motive for murder. I enjoyed the unexpected twists and thought Kelly Jackson was great performing the book. She brought the characters to life, and added the fitting emotions.
