Summary

Tall, dark, and muscled like a god, Beau Barnett is great with an axe. Every woman in Rockhead Point wants a taste of the mountain man. Including me.

Except he doesn't even know my name. I'm just the girl behind the counter filling his coffee, while he grunts and grumbles, barely making eye contact. Then a newcomer with a charming smile and a fancy suit shows up in Rockhead Point, and refuses to take no for an answer when he asks me to dinner.

That's when I find out Mr. Mountain Man not only knows my name; he thinks I'm his property.

Alpha male

If you love a good alpha male romance, then you’ll definitely enjoy this book. There is a significant agr difference between Beau and Bonnie, and in their own way they make it work. Beau repeatedly tells Bonnie “no space no distance” and she’s stuck on wanting space and time to absorb everything happening. These two have a passion that is hard to contain and sometimes you have to hit poor Bonnie over the head with what’s in front of her, but their HEA is worth it. The narrative team worked well together in bringing this story to life.

Pretty funny, over the top

This is an age-gap romance between an over-the-top growly mountain man and a sweet, young woman. The age gap is more than 20 years and Beau and Bonnie are neighbors. Bonnie has had a crush on Beau for such a long time and Beau didn't realize how much he wanted Bonnie until she caught the attention of a new guy. I laughed a bit at his caveman attitude but I have to admit that the premise threw me a little. He never asked her for dates (after all, in his mind, they were meant to be) but he would ask her father for preferences about, for instance, what to eat. It just seemed the story was very paternalistic, which is why I thought the story was overtop. If you like gap, daddy-ish, steamy stories, this one would fit the bill. I give the story 3.5 stars.

The narration, on the other hand, was great. I thought both of the voices, Cecily Foster's and Drew Adams, fit what I would imagine from these characters. Overall, i really enjoyed the narration.

Erotic Age Gap Romance

Property of the Mountain Man by Gemma Weir is an erotic romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Cecily Foster and Drew Adams. This is the first book in the Montana Mountain Men series and can be read as a standalone.

The book does come with a trigger warning "This book contains an over the top, jealous, unreasonable, possessive asshole. If you consider unapologetic alphaholes unacceptable, or feel their behavior is in someway abusive, then this isn't the book for you."

This is the first book of Gemma's that I have read it won't be my last. The chemistry between Bonnie and Beau is off the charts! Their relationship definitely isn't for everyone but I couldn't help but root for them.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Owned By The Mountain Man to be released on audio so I can get Huck and Cora's story.

Cecily and Drew did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves erotic romances, age gap romances, or if you love Alphaholes!

Beau puts a capital P in Possessive!!

Great Narrators- Drews voice was perfect, loved the husky, deep voice.

Beau was a possessive, alpha- A-hole BUT his intentions were pure.
I enjoyed it and im curious over the other brothers...

Hot Hot Mountain Man

I loved the dual narration of Drew Adams and Cecily Foster.. both brought this even more heat to this book... I will look out for books that these two have narration.

Beau and Bonnie story, is hot, steam, frustrating and full of humour.

Bonnie has had a crush on Beau since she was 13 years old.
Beau is older , a owner of a logging company..he is the oldest of seven brothers.. all hot.
All what I would call ... stubborn. jealous, prosive, and know how to please a woman.

When Beau sees Bonnie being asked out, he then realises she is his.... now he has to make her realise this.

Bonnie is no push over and gives as good as gets.
The two just steam .

You have been warned , hot scenes and a man beating his chest.

Sit back and enjoy.

My Thoughts on Property of the Mountain Man

This book honestly had me cracking up throughout the story. It may not have been written with that intent, and it isn’t meant as a slight against the book or the author, but this was just one of those stories that had me almost immediately thinking “this is fiction”. Once that thought settled in my mind I was able to just sit back and enjoy and laugh at the antics of the leading man.
Beau was over the top, possessive, overprotective, caveman like, and a little bit crazy. But it’s not something the author shies away from or tries to hide. She’s actually very open about it and I appreciated that. The story line flowed well, mostly taking place over a short amount of time, but I liked the way she wrote every major scene from both main character’s POV. It was done in a great way while progressing the story line at the same time. There were some good secondary characters and I look forward to seeing more of the Barnett brothers in future books.
The narrators both overall did a really good job. There were some moments where the male narrator Drew Adams took deep breaths that were very audible during the recording that I didn’t notice with the female narrator Cecily Foster. They were both very expressive in their tones and made this a really good listen.

He’s a bit overbearing… even for me!!

Beau and Bonnie were interested in each other… but neither of them are willing to talk about it with the other!!

When Beau finally claims her, his reasons for doing so and the way he goes about it make her angry…. Would’ve made me angry too. However, he loves her and he strives to make her see that. When he finally talks… well… you’ll see.

It’s a good story! I liked it.
Cecile Foster and Drew Adams are both new to me under these names. They did well with the narration.

Very enjoyable listen

This story was fun. The characters gave me some laughs and the narrators did a good job. The story did not feel long, and flowed well.

you have to just go with it

OK so remember this is a fictional mountain man romance, in the real world Beau would be toxic as hell with his possessiveness. but if you're familiar with these sort of alpha, mountain man, possessive men and can separate the real world to indulge in your fictional one and you like your spice with an age gap, then this book is for you. I enjoyed it and its worth the credit.

Bonnie and Beau!

Bonnie has had feelings for the brusque, sexy and much older outdoorsy man since she was a teenager but doesn’t believe he would ever feel the same way. So rather than living the life she wants with him she finds herself standing on the sidelines until another person enters the picture and it changes everything.

In his heart Beau has believed that Bonnie is his for a long time, but he always believed he had time until an outside threat forces him to take matters into his own hands. He will show her with his body and his words that they have always belonged together.

The chemistry between them radiates off the pages and although they had a few adjustments along the way there is no denying that the only place they belong is with each other. The narrators were a great choices for the characters as they brought out the gruffness of Beau and the sassiness of Bonnie. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession
