About this listen
Radicals is an exploration of the individuals, groups and movements rejecting the way we live.
Jamie Bartlett takes us inside the worlds of innovators, disruptors, idealists and extremists who think society is broken, and believe they know how to fix it.
Radicals introduces us to techno-futurists questing for immortality, far-right groups seeking to close borders, environmentalists striving to save the planet, libertarian movements founding new countries, autonomous cooperatives in self-sustaining micro-societies, and psychedelic pioneers attempting to heal society.

Like Theroux and Ronson but without the neurosis
What did you like best about this story?
It covered a wide range of societies radicals whilst remaining understanding yet clear eyed.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Given the book was set out into clear distinct chapters it remained fresh when moving on from one person (or group of people) to the next and so listening in one sitting was not a problem.

Provoking
Learnt a lot of interesting facts and helped me form a considered view on a number of people I might otherwise have dismissed

Brilliant book
Interesting, insightful and thought provoking. First time I’ve enjoyed the narrator of an audio book, so it gets bonus points!

Excellent
A fascinating insight into weird and often malinged groups who many know but few really understand. This book has been an eye opener for me with its fair and balanced view of some unsavoury characters (Tommy Robinson) that provides some fascinating insights into what makes these people 'radicals' and why.
Highly recommended, especially for todays world!

A personal exploration of the ridiculous and extre
What was most disappointing about Jamie Bartlett’s story?
Jamie meets only extreme and unrealistic individuals who don’t actually have a considered plan of how to change the world. Some are running for President of the United States in a coffin. Others are practising free sex in the name of breaking rules. None provided an alternative and option that could, in any way, be seen as a realistic alternative to the way we operate.
Jamie provided a first-person perspective. Little effort was taken to evaluate and test the theories he heard. He was capturing and regurgitating perspective rather than making any meaningful effort to peel back the veneer to understand the elements that had scientific support and those that were fantasy. It left the impression the majority was fantasy, created by societies delusional misfits.
