Story
We may not always see what truly hides within the minds and hearts of certain people, and where we believe is a good, pure individual, lays a terrible murderer capable of the most horrible acts. Robert Berdella was one such man, a helpful and friendly individual who - in a spree separated by a few years - managed to capture and horrifically torture seven young men, murdering six along the way. Control and dominance were his tools, pain was his method.

The horrific and disturbing nature of these stories often makes you question everything you thought or believed about humanity. Yet they are engaging and fascinating at the same time. We all had evil thoughts throughout our lives. What is it that makes us different from those who actually act upon it? Is it the act alone? Story
There are many myths about serial killers: that they are all dysfunctional loners; all white males; only motivated by sex; that they all travel and operate across a wide area; cannot stop killing; are all insane, or evil geniuses; and that they all want to get caught. Of course, there are some serial killers who fit into these categories, but the married Green River Killer was not a dysfunctional loner; there are plenty of female and non-Caucasian serial killers, Dr Harold Shipman was certainly not motivated by sex; and many serial killings (such as the Ipswich prostitute murders carried out by Steve Wright) happen within a confined area.

There is little more terrifying than those who hunt, stalk, and snatch their prey under the cloak of darkness. These hunters search not for animals, but for the touch, taste, and empowerment of human flesh. They are cannibals, vampires, and monsters, and they walk among us. These serial killers are not mythical beasts with horns and shaggy hair. They are people living among society, going about their day-to-day activities until nightfall. They are the Dennis Rader's, the fathers, husbands, church-going members of the community.

Real-life is stranger and more frightening than fiction, and this book serves to cement that principal even further. In this compilation, there are 11 cases of some of the most deplorable, unjust and violent crimes I’ve come across. From cannibals to rapists to the sickest, most twisted criminals you’ve not yet heard of, you’ll hear about them all in this book. I’ll tell you the story of Rurik Jutting, a British banker living in Hong Kong who held two women hostage, tortured them and raped them over a number of days.

Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most fascinating, memorable, and gruesome serial killers in American history who took the lives of 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He was a grotesque serial rapist, cannibal, and necrophiliac who the world will never forget. In this book, we discover just what the man who got a 900+ year prison sentence got up to in his spare time, and what shaped him as a person. This series is narrated in the classic cut-and-dry factual style that true crime fans enjoy, leaving out distractions, opinions, and unnecessary embellishments.

Summary
Witness how seemingly innocent, neighbor-loved men turned into devilish creatures, feared till this day.
Famous actors, musicians, political leaders, and the greats of science. There are stories told. Movies filmed. And books written and narrated about the impact they’ve made on the world. But this is a collection of different kind of people. People who are known not for their selfless, positive, and genuine contributions, but the opposite....
In this audiobook set of four true crime books, you will learn about men who performed acts so cruel, inhumanely heartless, and unfathomable that their names will never be forgotten.
This collection includes four of the world’s most well-known serial killers:
- Edmund Kemper: Rejected child whose traumatic childhood scarred him for a lifetime. The only way he could deal with his pain was by inflicting pain on others.
- Jeffrey Dahmer: Cannibalistic rapist and necrophiliac serial killer who felt no remorse and absolutely zero empathy.
- Robert Berdella: An ordinary man, appreciated by neighbors and a great lover of cooking, art, and culture, who turned into one of the most sadistic torturers to ever live.
- Ted Bundy: After taking dozens of innocent lives across seven states and escaping the prison twice, he earned the title of America’s most wicked serial killer.
Delve into the dark, hidden side of the impactful - their names are never said out loud yet will never be forgotten....

well researched and wonderfully in depth
I absolutely love the genre of true crime and have always had a fascination with what goes through the mind of people before they commit such horrific crimes. This author has the ability to truly delve into the mindset of the killer. It is apparant from the start just how much research has gone into his work and how he has a passion to portray his findings to his readers. I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review

Dark and sinister. My kind of book!! With the arrival of Fall and Halloween around the corner I was in the mood for a good horror book. This was it! The fact that these were all TRUE crime stories, just chilled me to my core! Loved each volume, especially Ted Bundy. As an Oregon State University alumna, his story hits home for me and makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. If you're looking for something to keep you up at night- you need this collection!!

Dark, disturbing and chilling true life horrors!!
There are four true crime stories in this collection:
Book 1: Edmund Kemper.
Edmund was abused as a child. He had a rage inside him that cruelly forced him to sexually and physically torture young men.
Book 2: Jeffrey Dahmer.
Dahmer was a cannibalistic rapist and necrophiliac serial killer.
Book 3: Robert Berdella.
Berdella was a normal man, but also a sadistic torturer.
Book 4: Ted Bundy.
One of America’s most notorious serial killers, taking numerous lives.
Ryan portrays the stories through the killers’ eyes and puts you in their minds. It is so disturbing yet so important to know! He mentions how fortunate we are to be able to learn from these events and to be wary, as many people are not who they seem to be. It is a chilling horror depicting real life paths that these dark and disturbing people followed. The stories were creepy, vividly described and cleverly portrayed. Ryan has a gift of giving you goosebumps and shudder at the thoughts. The story was very well written and very well narrated by Michael. The performance was like watching a sick movie playing while I was listening.
I highly recommend this series and I look forward to hearing more from both the author and narrator!

Great Book! Absolutely Horrible Narration.
The book itself was very good. Very detailed and VERY graphic. The book focused on 4 prolific serial killers.
The narrator, however. was horrible. Horrible isn't even a good enough word to describe his reading. I struggled to even finish the book because of him.
I will not get another book if it is narrated by Michael Goodrick.
