Sound baths are full-body listening experiences that calm the mind and body with resonant instruments like tuning forks and crystal bowls.

In order to get the most out of your listening experience, pioneering sound therapist Sara Auster recommends you dim the lights and lie down or sit in a comfortable position with an eye mask and a blanket, silence any alerts or notifications, and use earphones. These things allow you to completely unplug and connect with the present moment to intentionally prepare for sleep. Your body has permission to slow down and rest, to receive without the need to respond or react. Begin your experience by focusing on your breath, then allow yourself to drift into a spacious and dreamlike state. All you have to do is arrive with an open mind and listen.

Wildly annoying intros spoil everything

These recordings are rendered virtually useless because Audible, in their infinite wisdom, stuck an overloud intro in the same "chapter". So if you're planning to listen to them in a sequence, or to the same one in a loop, you end up getting jarred out of the experience again and again.

Unpleasant

I've only tried three chapters and they were all unpleasant: two of them had a very low sound and the author's voice was too loud in comparison, awakening (when not making you jump) at the beginning of the chapters. The third chapter had the music even louder than the voice and it was extremely annoying. It was the sound of forks and it was piercing my head. Definitely not something for bedtime.

The sounds were so irritating they kept me awake. Odd “pings” actually distracted from counting breaths. No stars.

Great Little free resource

Dissonant sounds.

Most tracks are too dissonant to encourage sleep. There's a time and a place for dissonance - bedtime is not it.

Just a single low hum 😕

This is a joke!! Suppsed to be "a variety of relaxing instruments" but is actually just a single note monotonous humming drone!! I mean WTAF???!!!

As good as you can get for not really being there

I have been to a lot of sound baths and it is more about the vibration than the noise. That is my only reason for my average ratings. They are as good as they can be and I am very grateful for them under circumstances where I have been shielding for 9 months. Thanks audible!
