Great moving story about the power of friendship
I really enjoyed this book, it was both well written and well narrated. The story was serious in that it covers some serious and sad themes, a boy is isolated from normal life in order to keep his health but that didn't mean he had no experiences of life and friendship. The friendships he made were just as valid and as important as for anyone else, even one which wasn't never in person. It doesn't shy away from difficult subjects, so it is not a patronising read for a child. It's an insight in to how we can appreciate the small things in life. I would highly recommend this for relatively confident independent readers and certainly one that an adult or teacher could share with their child/children and also get a huge amount out of it too.
