Story
Waitress and single mother Louise Olson wouldn’t have missed church to stay home with her sick daughter if she knew the congregation was going to volunteer her to head up the town’s Harvest Festival. Truth be told, she didn’t mind and would have enjoyed it. The problem was Sweet Water’s superstar hockey golden boy was back in town, and he had been named her co-chair. That even wouldn’t be a problem except he didn’t know he was a father - of her daughter.

Beautifully written,expertly narrated,sweet,clea.
I absolutely loved this!
A beautiful, sweet romance that I have no hesitation in recommending.
Palmer never had any plans to get married but, when he receives a surprise letter,he knows that it means he would be able to pay for medical bills and save his ranch. The catch? He needs a wife.
Ames and Palmer have been best friends forever. Always spending time together on Palmer's ranch. When Ames comes home for summer, she hopes for fun and hard work before she moves to L.A. for her dream job.
What she doesn't expect, is to learn that her best friend has to marry as part of a catch,in order to be given the ability to pay medical bills and save his ranch.
This is the third Audiobook narrated by Jay Dyess, that I have heard and,I am happy to say, that I continue to be impressed by how great a job he has done in bringing these characters and this story to life.
I am more than happy to recommend you dive in to find out if Ames is going to leave for her dream job in L.A. Or,is what she has always wanted, right in front of her.

A great book
I am so glad that I stumbled upon Jessie Gussman. I was offered codes to listen to her books on Audible. One of the best decisions that I made was to give that a try.
I enjoyed Palmer story. I have fallen in love with Sweetwater Ranch and can't wait to read the rest of the stories. To give you a little heads up on this one. Palmer and Ames have been best friends for most of their lives. Palmer has received a letter that he can inherit 1 billion dollars if he marries 6 months after visiting the attorney who sent him the letter. There are several catches to the letter.
When Palmer visits the lawyer he takes his best friend Ames with him. She sets out to find him a bride. A really cute book that had me laughing at times and almost in tears at times because of the decisions they have to make and how they would affect everyone and not just Palmer.
Jay Dyess made the book even better. He puts his all into the story and using different voices that make it easy to identify who is talking. He does a wonderful job and is very easy to listen to. Makes the book more enjoyable.
Jessie Gussman and Jay Dyess have done a wonderful job together to make these some of the best books for us to enjoy.

Lovely friendship romance
Jessie Gussman and Jay Dyess team to make a sweet, clean romance -- just what I need in these crazy times! Palmer and Ames have been friends since high school, but she is competitive and driven -- and lives far away from North Dakota. I'm picky with my fiction, and I truly like this small town and the world Jessie has created. The billionaire part seems believable, and doesn't play an important role in the book at all.
Just a good story with likable characters who have a lot to work out within them. I highly recommend!

Amazing story
Jessie Gussman's style of writing always leaves you wanting more! She weaves a story filled with delightful characters that face challenges without taking the easy way out. She presents raw emotion as well as humor throughout this story. It is a clean romance with characters that not only have a moral compass but live their lives dependent on that moral compass to guide them. I listened to this book on Audible and the narration by Jay Dyess can't be beat!

A great,, clean "best friend's" romance.
Palmer never married, because he could never find another girl who had the qualities of his "best friend". He could not let Aimes know his true feelings, for fear of losing their friendship.
Aimes was home for a brief visit before moving onto her next venture.
Palmer finally shared with Aimes the ultimatum he was given.. He had to marry or lose the historical family ranch. Although she couldn't settle down, she decided to help him by having him spend time with her three good friends. This would solve their problems, or would it?
This is a fun story of opposites and not knowing one's friends as well as one thinks. It is also a story of tough choices.
The characters are endearing, the situations entertaining, the background scenes were easily visualized.
The Narrator, Jay Dyess, does an outstanding job of "bringing the story to life" through his vocal emphasis and "voices".
I was gifted this book with no pressure to give a positive review. This is my honest review.

Well told tale
The story was wonderful. I enjoyed the characters. I enjoyed the activity. The flow was amazing. The people and Sweetwater, on the ranch, with Ames and Palmer, were so real and authentic. You could see yourself right there with them, playing, talking, and experiencing life. I look forward to the next story.

My first by this narrator.
I have previously read all of the books by this author and am now working my way through listening to them. This is my first time listening to a book done by Dyess. I've heard amazing things about him, but he simply blew this out of the water! Incredible. The different voices, different enough to easily distinguish characters, but it sounded completely natural. Smooth speaking, emotions, a wonderful presentation of this book.
I loved this book. Best friends becoming something more and having to decide how much love is worth. I enjoyed the banter and antics between the two and the musings in their heads. The small town seems wonderful and the other characters mentioned seem great - I can’t wait to read about them in future books!

Can best friends ever be more than that?
This is a really great story of two best friends. Ames has won Olympic medals and travelled the world but every summer she tried to get home to Sweetwater North Dakota to see her parents and her best friend. Ames and Palmer have been friends since he was a skinny gangly legged 9th grader. Now Palmer runs the ranch for his grandparents. This story takes us into what it takes to run a ranch especially when the owners are frail and have medical conditions. Palmer gets a strange letter in the mail and takes Ames with him to see what it is all about. That throws this story into a humorous situation for the best friends. This is a really great story that shows the importance of what really matters in life.
I received a free code from the publisher to listen to this book on Audible.com. This review is my own honest opinion.

All The Feels
Jessie Gussman is a pro at writing engaging sweet romances with the best dialogue and the feeling-est feels ever. Her stories progress logically and her story characters are believable and engaging. She writes romances that can enjoyed over and over without losing their shine.
The narration by Jay Dyess is perfection. He makes the story dialogue come to life and ring with authenticity, and he does it so smoothly, that he never gets between the listener and the story. He “makes” the yoga scene. (Yes, there’s a yoga scene in this cowboy romance and you’re going to grin all the way through it.) When I read the book, I enjoyed the scene, when Dyess narrates the scene he elevates it to comedic perfection.
