A young woman turns up at a police station. She has been kept prisoner in her own home. Abused and tortured, her every move watched, her every thought controlled. Now she's finally escaped. Ridiculous
I was drawn in by the good reviews but left stumped as to why so many people rated it so highly. I found it badly written and tedious with the same things being repeated over and over. I found no empathy with any of the characters and struggled to listen to the end.
the narration was flat and boring.
overall a waste of a credit.

An Odd Plot With a Sad Ending
I really enjoyed this book it was an unusual plot and for once I did not guess the end. I also liked the male narration it was very understated and there were no silly voices. The story really engaged the listener and the final twist was unexpected it was a book that I had to tear myself away from.

TW: Rape and Sexual Assault
Trigger warning for anyone who wants to read this book: it has graphic descriptions of violent rape and sexual assault from the perspective of a potential victim and the perpetrator.
I really liked this book. I definitely did not anticipate the twist at the end until a few paragraphs before it was confirmed. The 4 or so mysteries that are interwoven throughout the story are all brought together in a very interesting way by the end. I genuinely questioned every single person’s motives at some point throughout the story except for the narrator Simone’s.

Much better than I expected
I'm not usually a big fan of stories in which an adult turns up saying they are someone who disappeared as a child. I bought this during a two for sale, and it turned out to be my favorite of the two. I won't spoil the plot, I'll just say if you like psychological mysteries, you'll love this one

Oh Snap.. Is She or isn't She The Girl You Lost?
I absolutely would recommend this book to anyone into suspense and mystery. Although the premise is tragic as losing a child is life altering- it's also dark and nerve racking. You have to choose what to believe and who to believe. There's some sketchy characters and wondering who the male narrative is keeps you guessing until the end. Definitely worth the credit, in my opinion.

This book moved along quickly. The accent wasn't too distracting - loved the male voice. Although I guessed the ending, it didn't spoil the story for me because I wasn't sure I was right until it was revealed. Creepy in parts but believable. I would recommend for soft thriller / mystery fans.
