Meet Frida. Divorce lawyer, cynic and secret descendant of the immortal love god Eros. She's about to have a really bad day....
When a handsome but clearly delusional man named Dan bursts into Frida's office and insists that she is fated to save the world, she has him ejected faster than you can say 'prenup'. But a creepy meeting, a demon or three and one attempted kidnapping later, Frida is beginning to face the inconvenient truth: Dan is in fact The Oracle, the gods of Greek mythology are real and Frida herself appears to be everyone's only hope.
The world is doomed.
Bridget Jones by way of Neil Gaiman, this smart and quirky story will change the way you look at love forever.

BRILLIANT! Original, witty and great fun
Nicola Mostyn's website The Unstoppable Author is a great resource, so I was keen to read/listen to her own novel.
I'm so glad I did because The Gods of Love is BRILLIANT!
It's a very funny story about how modern life would be if the Greek Gods were around and influencing events from behind the scenes. The main character, Frieda, is feisty, strong, witty, sarcastic and thinks Greek mythology is exactly that – a myth.
She has to question this belief though when an Oracle turns up in her office and tells her that there's more to who she is than she realises and that she needs to save the world. No biggie.
(The Oracle just happens to be a very handsome, very witty man, who Freida would be attracted to if he she didn't think he was talking complete nonsense.)
I won't give any spoilers, but Freida's life is turned upside down and the book is a rollercoaster of adventures, encounters, events, romance, laughs and near-death experiences.
I'm interested in Greek mythology, but can never remember who's who, but that didn't matter as Nicola Mostyn describes the characters and their stories effortlessly, so that it's easy to absorb and understand and enhances the plot rather than distracting from it.
The research Nicola must have done is phenomenal. I loved this book and strongly recommend it. Mary Woodvine narrated it perfectly too.
Unfortunately the sequel The Love Delusion isn't on audiobook yet, but I'm reading it and love it just as much as The Gods of Love. I'm hoping there will be another soon as I'm going to miss these brilliant characters.
Well done Nicola Mostyn!

Loved this.
I really enjoyed this, and am looking forward to Nicola Mostyn's next book. I was eager to listen in any spare moments which doesn't happen that often with audiobooks. I hope it is the same narrator for the next book.

Bloody Brilliant
Corker of a read. Great to have the gods translated into a rollercoaster paced novel with a cool heroine.
Already looking forward to the next instalment.
Choice of narrator perfect - a touch of the Maxine Peake voice quality & accent.
