Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of The Hidden Oracle: The Trials of Apollo, Book One, by Rick Riordan, read by Robbie Daymond.
How do you punish an immortal?
By making him human.
After angering his father, Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy.
Now, without his godly powers, the 4,000-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus' favour. But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed.
Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go: an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

Amazing!
I was sceptical at first. But I seriously had nothing to worry about. Rick Riordan has done it again. Great story, brilliant pacing, twists & turns. So good.
The narrator was great.
This is a must read for any Percy Jackson fan.

love the story
love the story but some of the characters were already pre existing and would have sounded better if they had had the similar twangs as previous books (like Leo Valdez)

As awesome as Apollo (that's what he says, anyway)
What did you like most about The Hidden Oracle?
Omgs where do I start...everything?
It wasn't just a new story. It was THE story we all have been waiting for even if we didn't do it consciously.
This book, Apollo, the conflict... is the answers to things we since Lightning Thief.
Reading (or hearing, in this case) this was a click! in everything and a mind-blowing experience thanks to the voice actor.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Actually I have to say it's Apollo.
He's the most complex character he's written in years.
Just put in a box the 4000 year-old experience and wisdom of Apollo (yes, he has wisdom) and the cocky attitude we were used to since The Titan's Curse and we have one of the most interesting characters a writer could make.
He was a god but know he realises he isn't anymore but something different.
Really fun and deep when needed.
What does Robbie Daymond bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The emotion the readers experienced with The Lightning Thief.
Rick Riordan does it again with the first person pov, like the old series and Robbie Daymond is able to bring back all we know from that kind of pov's.
He just adds more intensity and emotion to the text and things Apollo feel and say and think.
He is able to bring Apollo and all his real feelings next to you (and well, he has a very suitable voice for this ex god not mentioning the way he portrays Chiron. It's just unbelievable).
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
This is a little bit spoilery so
MINOR SPOILERS:
That one time he sings trying to find and reach his companion in the Wood.
There you realise (and this is just the first book, more has to come) who Apollo really is, the deeps of this heart, etc.He is just focused in rescuing a girl and not in himself for once.
The Daphne and Zephyrus moment just made me all teary. No joke.
Any additional comments?
Omgs just buy this if you are able to.
It's a great experience after Heroes of Olympus and not regrettable at all (just make sure you read the whole series before this, because if you don't you're gonna be spoiled in the most hum silly way).
Robbie Daymond did a great job. We can say he knows what he was reading (more like narrating) about.
Makes this way better compared to someone who doesn't.
