Summary

This is the way the world ends.

On a warm summer night in New York City, the apocalypse begins. Within days, the deadly Medusa virus is sweeping the globe like a wildfire, pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. As civilization crumbles around him, survivor Adam Fisher will discover a flicker of hope that will send him on a quest through a ruined American landscape.

He joins forces with Sarah Wells, a soldier harboring a tragic secret and Freddie Briggs, an aging football star grieving the loss of his family.

To survive in their frightening post-plague world, the group must face challenges unlike any they have ever known, including the rise of a dangerous new enemy that will threaten the survivors' fragile existence.

Not too bad

Good enough story, standard post apocalyptic stuff, wee bit lite , not very gritty so only 4 star.

Awful narration, passable story.

Ignoring the medically dubious bits, the story at least moves along. Plenty of the cliched coincidences, ragtag bunch of survivors just so happens to find the right kind of doctor and the right kind of stuff. Harmless enough.

The narrator really lets it all down, he has this weird cadence and to al inflection that makes every sentence a struggle to listen to.

If this wasn’t the full 4 book set it would be thievery.

The entire book

I haven’t exactly finished a lot of books, most become dull around the half way point, but this book had everything I was looking for, a brilliant story full of grips and tension although the ending may be dry the story as a whole was brilliant and I already can’t wait to read more of his work! If you’re looking for a gripping apocalyptic world then this is a good read and 17+hrs well spent, so glad I found this book after years of searching! Thank you for writing this forever hold a place in my mind

Do not buy this book

I really struggled to finish this book, it was boring and badly written with incredibly flat characters. Such a waste of a decent premise. I wish I could give it zero stars.

The performance was competent.

Poor narration

This story was ok. Not as well put together as other post-apocalyptic books I have read. However it could have been better with a decent narrator.
