Summary
Thanks to environmental pollutants, iodine deficiency has become a worldwide epidemic. Everybody knows pollutants cause cancer. What they don't know is that these pollutants cause a deficiency that can make us sick, fat, and stupid. Iodized salt - supposedly a solution to iodine deficiency - is actually a nutritional scam that provides a false sense of security. The Iodine Crisis explains how we became so deficient, then shows the time-tested solution to reversing many conditions. Lynne Farrow reveals how she and thousands of other patient-activists changed their lives by researching and using iodine. Frequently asked questions cover everything you need to know about iodine. The proof of iodine's benefit is demonstrated by the dramatic case studies shared in this book.

Very, very poor thinking, poor structure, very poor arguments.
Very, very disappointing. The thinking is incredibly garbled, scenarios are proposed as only having 2 options, e.g. it’s either scenario A or it’s a conspiracy and as it’s not scenario A it must be a conspiracy, which is ridiculous, there are many more possible explanations, which the author does not seem aware of. It states it does not purport to be a medical study, or advise people in any way, and then goes on to do just that. Data collection is basically as rigorous as “my friends friend said…” or “this person sent in their story and said…” It such a shame as I think there probably is some useful information in here somewhere, but as the author has such a poor understanding of general field in which they are gathering their information, they are not able to put it together into a coherent argument with actual information. It’s more like a book about “these 8 people wrote in and said it helped them so it must be true, and a perfect cure for everything”. Whether or not any of the information is actually correct is one issue, but the main issue is how badly the text is structured. The author can make 3or 4 suppositions in a sentence, draws some unconnected conclusions, and then progresses as if it was factual. The points noted don’t connect with the conclusions, and really it’s a massive waste of time to try to find anything really worth reading in the jumble of sweeping statements, unconnected conclusions, overly simplistic arguments, false choices, and general lack of actual critical thinking. I think if the reader is interested in this field, they would be much better off at looking at the wider picture of how the actual nutritional value of much of the food we all grow has decreased as the solids have become poorer, and due to how some foods are stored, how risky chemicals in foods have increased due to how they are treated with chemicals whilst growing or treated with chemicals to make harvesting easier (rapeseed) for even in the case of raisins how they are watered and where the water can come from, (what industry has a lot of waste water and needs to dump it, and has realised it can sell it to huge farming companies cheaply?) what these chemicals can do to brain development. So I’m not saying there is no problem, but it’s like finding one tiny thread and saying it’s the whole rug, and I would encourage anyone interested in this to read more widely, and then maybe they can work out themselves how iodine, or any lack of it, fits into a much wider picture of how humans are being affected by what they do, or don’t consume, and what it’s tainted with. I think that’s where the main story is, and this is just a little piece.

Just awful
This is possibly the worst audio book I’ve tried to listen to. The voice is mechanical and the narrative is just terrible. I will research this subject elsewhere.

Enlightening information
I am trying iodine supplements out to see if symptoms I have clear up - skin symptoms & post menopausal slight bleed
I am a very healthy 62 year old but have many friends with many of the complaints listed from lack of iodine - especially female cancers, fibromyalgia, thyroid issues - I will research iodine supplementation further - I am very interested in treating the cause not the symptoms- and in natural remedies
