Summary

Some doors are locked for a reason....

While 11-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.

Until the day the police arrived at their front door.

Decades later, Nora's father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.

Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.

Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she's not a killer like her father. The police can't pin anything on her.

As long as they don't look in her basement.

great book

loved the story and Freida McFadden is becoming one of favourite authors. Shame about the narrative, voice was too stern for the story!

Terrible narrator.

Was an ok book. I did want to get to the end to see what happened but oh my. The narrator was horrible. I felt like the story and plot would have been much better with a different narrator

A good listen

Story was good, I only guessed the outcome towards the end, some good details in there which I really enjoyed.
Narration was super annoying though, almost stopped listening but I do love Freida McFadden books so I stuck with it.

Sadly could not finish this book

I feel bad writing this but I highly recommend sampling this book before purchasing, I had to turn this off after about 45 mins because I really disliked the narration. It sounded like AI as the tone and speed seemed really off.

The story I listened to seemed interesting but I have decided to buy the physical book instead.

Good story!!

This was a very good story, great twists and turns. BUTTTT the narrators voice was the most horrific thing to listen to. Her male voice was so annoying, as it’s her job you’d think she would do it well. I almost couldn’t finish it. But Frieda McFadden books are my weakness!

keeps you guessing!

I like that you are led on a suspense trail and potentially jump to the wrong conclusions...

Worst narrator ever

I actually enjoyed this story, but the narrator has the worst voice I've ever heard on an audiobook - So whiny and shrill, it made the book really hard to listen too. I will listen to more by the author, but certainly not this narrator.
