Thorne returns in style

This is the way,Billingham gives us one of the best yet,it doesn’t disappoint.
Recently tried his latest stand alone thriller but, despite a great performance by Maxine Peake,I just couldn’t get to grips and it remains unfinished.
You can’t beat Thorne along with many other familiar characters and the return of his nemesis gives us a gripping narrative.
For the second time in a couple of weeks I did not see the ending coming and I look forward to seeing where we go from here with another dark episode to add to various back stories .Let’s hope for many more in this riveting series.

Mark B writes delicious murder books and this Murder Book is one of his best. I love Tom Thorne and always feel that he’s a man in need of a good hug 🫠…and the twist at the end, I did not see coming. Do yourself a favour and get this book today.

The performance

The story is terrific. So many twists and turns. So many things I just could not guess. Quite unusual and I like the way in which the story was about more than just the detective. I can see this guy developing more and more...

Loved it! Audio as well as Kindle versions

Had read all MB’s other books so interested to hear him narrate - I wasn’t disappointed. Great story and love the characters, especially the end.
Just wondering how many people proofread the script and missed that Bronzefield is in Ashford Middlesex, not Kent. Jarred a bit every time Kent police was mentioned!!
