Editor reviews

Narrated by esteemed actor Christopher Plummer, of The Sound of Music fame, The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket is literary giant Edgar Allen Poe’s only complete novel, finished in 1838.

Arthur Gordon Pym has a drunken impulse to stow away on a whaling ship. And, as we know from other great titles of historical seafaring literature, such as Moby-Dick, the powerful mighty sea can bring much outside misfortune and internal turbulence. Pym experiences a mutiny, a shipwreck, hostile natives, several other massive calamities, and like all good literature, a significant crisis of self.

ABRIDGED

At no point does this say the story is abridged. I find this quite unfair. I’m teaching it and the students need the FULL version.
