Summary

New town, new job, new neighbor...new crush.

I’ve got a serious problem, and it goes by the name of Ted Jones. Even his name is nerdy! Combine that with his glasses, lean runner’s frame, crazy smarts, and superhero addiction, and he’s got my lady engine revving hard.

What can I say? I’ve got a thing for hot nerds.

But our shy glances and awkward exchanges in the elevator aren’t going to cut it. This nerd is mine; he just doesn’t know it yet.

so enjoyable

Amanda Stribling and David Black, are both great narrators.

Between the misunderstanding the two characters , I found myself laughing out loud. Such a fun listen too.
This a lovely humorous , and enjoyable listen.

Highly recommend.

Enjoyable book

I enjoyed the storyline which was slightly humorous and light to listen to, loved the character of Ted. I like the idea of being able to listen to a book whilst doing other things, however listening does take some getting used to. I think it i was to pick between reading and listening I would chose reading, but I definitely get the benefit of listening when I'm unable read.
I did struggle with the accent I was listening to, but once I got used to it, it wasn't a issue any longer. The narrator's were clear and easy to understand, with expression.

A delightful, funny story!

One of the few times I've listened to an audiobook before reading it first.

I absolutely adored this funny, cute and sexy story. I found myself giggling constantly at the happenings in the book.

Ted is absolutely adorable with his bumbling ways, shyness and complete misunderstanding of the situation. I loved Haley and her massive awkward crush on Ted, and her attempts to engage him in conversation.

Such a delightful listening experience that was delivered adeptly by the narrators!

Fun!

I loved listening to this sweet and fun story of Haley, the veterinarian, and Ted, the hot nerdy professor! The narrators did a wonderful job providing just the right voices for the characters.

Cute slow burn romance

I love books where the hero and heroine are nerds/geeks and this book was no different (I too have an abnormal obsession with superheroes. haha). Anyway, this was cute read. Haley and Ted both had really funny internal musings which made me giggle. I loved Tank, Haley's dog. And overall, the author did a great job making the characters likable and didn't draw out their miscommunications too long, although it did take the majority of the book before they realized they were wrong with each other. Still, a good slow burn book.

I borrowed the book from KU and requested and received the audiobook.
This book has both a female and male narrator and both were good. Amanda Stribling is perfect- bright and cheeky with pacing that is perfect for this type of romantic comedy. David Black was good as well. It’s the first time I’ve listened to his narration and he did such a good job playing the slightly nerdy character.

Stand alone rom-com

I recommend this book to people (like me) whose favorite part of the story is seeing how the characters get together followed by a nice HFN. And to people who like stories with pets and/or average characters (as opposed to billionaires, celebrities or men in uniform). And stories where ladies are capable of saving their own selves, whether or not they have to. And to people who might like those things, but aren't sure yet.

This book was loosely connected to The Way You Are (Carolina Connections Series), but it's not required to read that book first. While this is the first book in the Carolina Kisses series, there's not a lot of extra characters in this one so I'm interested to see where the rest of the series goes.

Amanda Stribling and David Black did a really fantastic job bringing the characters to life in the Audible version.

Fabulous topsy turvy romance

Absolutely loved this story and the narrators did an excellent job in making it come to life. I lost count how many times Haley and Ted made me laugh out loud due to their totally misunderstanding a situation. Deserves more than a 5 star rating. I highly recommend this book to be read. Well done Sylvie.

You're my hero!

A misunderstanding of EPIC proportions, this is all too sweet and funny and frustrating beyond compare. The narrators, for me, do a better job with this book than they did with "The Way We Are" and it was very pleasant listening.

a cute romance

Ted is the typical nerd, and Haley is his new neighbor. They are both shy and awkward with new people. I found myself encouraging them to talk to each other already. When they do finally talk, things take off quickly. I loved the awkwardness of these two. Ted knew she was his, he just needed to talk to her once. Haley knew Ted was her, if she could only talk to him. The was worth it. I completely related to the characters. I love geeky nerds so much that I married one myself. I got lost in this story and loved everything about it.

Amanda Stribling and David Black are a wonderful narrating team. I enjoy what they narrate. Amanda brought out the shyness and determination of Hailey. Amanda really brought Hailey to life. David really brought out the awkwardness of Ted. Amanda and David narrated Ted and Hailey as I know nerds to be. I really related to these characters and I really enjoyed the narration.
