Summary

During the long hot summer of 1976, a brilliant young Cambridge mathematician arrives in a remote village in the Lake District and takes on a job as a farm labourer. Sad and atmospheric

What a hard life then characters in this story live. I thought it was set in a much older time frame than the seventies it was set in.
There is not really any happy bits to this book but it is a good story
