A new Destiny

Andy Peloquin never fails to impress, a fantastic short tale from the Heirs Of Destiny series, we follow one of the main protagonist Evren from the main books, who is an apprentice priest and its a living hell, when he and a fellow Davor make a break for it, escaping a life of slavery, while they make their way through the streets and Dark alleys of Vothmot, full of thieves, murderers and some unsavoury characters, but escaping one hell, running might have landed them in a much worse situation, with Davor alot younger, he must toughen up and steel to survive, after reading this, I will be checking out the series in the near future, awesome narration by Travis Morris, super read, a cracking arrange of voices gives it an extra touch of awesomeness, highly recommend...😁

The brilliant start to yet another series.

Anyone can read these books as a standalone set of novels and equally enjoy them without reading the preceding series 'Heroes of Darkness', from which these books are a fork in the road, and set in the same world with some of its characters. However I recommend the series reading order Mr Peloquin suggests on his site. Enjoy...!

WORTH LISTENING TO

The characters are fairly 1 dimensional, but otherwise what is an interesting and promising story. Im not sure how I feel about the thick Southeastern European/Italian accounts of all the characters, vs the American accent of the narrator (which grate against one another, to my ears) but they are done well enough.

I wish he would have given a little time to characters development even though it’s just a free prequel. The entire time is spent displaying how virtuous the Mary-Janed main character is with hardly a line of dialogue the cardboard cut out of his physically/mentally weaker friend he spends the entire time protecting. The other characters too are all 1-D.

Still the story is interesting enough that I would like to know what happens in the future. Snd best if all - I care enough about the main character to be willing to spend money on the next listen.

Intriguing

This is my first book in this series, and although it isn't as compelling as some I've listened to, it does make me curious about what happens to the 2 main characters. The narrator voice inflection & accent was good, but there wasn't enough distinction between the voices, so sometimes it was hard to follow the dialogue. But overall, it was a pretty good listen.
