Great story - poor narration
I listen to a lot of audible books and this was without doubt the worst narration I have ever listened to. Not to mention the mournful music playing loudly in the background the whole way through. I only persevered because I was interested in the story.

how can you ruin this book?
sorry. I love this book but this version killed me. there are weird sentence pauses. no change in tone. Mistakes in French words. Really annoying piano throughout and worst of all bits missing, mostly at ends of chapters. Listen to the John Hurt version instead. That one has bad reviews but is 10 times more listenable than this production.
