Summary

Willa Knight: Dweller. Slave. Non-magical being.

In Minatsol, being a dweller means that you are literally no better than dirt. In fact, dirt might actually be more useful than Willa. Her life will be one of servitude to the sols, the magic-blessed beings who could one day be chosen to become gods.

At least her outer village is far removed from the cities of the sols, and she won't ever be forced to present herself to them... Until one small mistake changes everything, and Willa is awarded a position to serve at Blesswood, the top sol academy in the world - a position that she definitely did not earn.

Under the sudden, watchful eye of the gods, she will be tasked to serve the Abcurse brothers, five sols built of arrogance, perfection, and power. They are almost gods themselves, and under their service, she is either going to end up sentenced to death, or else they are going to ruin her so badly that she will wish for it.

Either way, she is in trouble.

This is a full novel, 90,000 words. Book one of five in the Curse of the Gods Series

Love Willa's internal babblings

Love the unusual quirky relationship they have its not what I expected at all.

She's just as feisty as the five brothers so gives them more than a bit of sass back, any other dweller would have floundered from the get go.

I'm intrigued to see how their relationship and friendships develop across the next books.

Some people found the narration too fast judging by previous reviews, I have had no problem with this. I quite like the pace, it keeps the story going and me interested.

Willa is an interesting character and does not conform on any level, but she's funny and sincere whilst still being ditsy as hell. her inner babblings and lack of self censor make me chuckle, she seems to have no filter most of the time.

The brothers seem to have taken her under their wing for some reason, I get the impression this kind of thing does not normally happen in their world so they are all breaking boundaries and upsetting the norm.

Wonderful

Beautifully crafted and highly entertaining first instalment of Curse of the Gods. I cannot wait for the following instalments. Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington are fabulous together. Eve is a fantastic storyteller always bringing characters to life with a unique understanding of human nature with all of it’s flaws and endearments. This is the first time of encountering Washington and I cannot wait to dive into her other stories. I highly recommend this series to anyone wishing to escape into a wonderful new world of the fantastic.

Amazing

I’ve had this audiobook in my library for over 2 years and I’m so annoyed with myself for leaving it so long before I listened to it. Willa is sent to Minatsol to be a dweller who are said to be no better than dirt , she has to live her life serving magic blessed who might eventually become gods. The first day she arrives she meets some of the Abcurse brothers which doesn’t go very well and things seem to get worse from there. I really loved listening and I’m starting book 2 now . As usual Vanessa Moyen narrates perfectly.

Great narration

Good story made better by a very talented narrator. Able to differentiate easily between characters.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful

I loved this book, the storyline the characters the world!!! My only dislike was the lack of differentiation between the brothers. The narrator did not make a big enough difference between them.
