Very Informative!

Great guide for parents for their children who are still growing up and still understanding what their nature is like especially with kind of behavior. This could help them understand what's supposed to do or not to do when taking care of an autistic child. Learned from this book a lot, I can share them with my friends and family who are just starting to raise children and this could really help them if anything comes up. Very detailed and clear narration from the author and producer.

Five Stars!

This audiobook really opened my eyes to how my nephew looked at life. It also made me aware of my own short comings in helping raise him. Understanding the reasons for his tantrums and overdeveloped interests (cars, cars and more cars) really helped us bond more easily. It also help me to better get my points across to him and even started noticing him putting a lot of the things I have said into practice. This audiobook is a must listen to and I highly recommend to any parent struggling to raise a newly special individual. I will be recommending a copy to my sister in law most definitely.

Very helpful guide for parents!

If anyone wants to understand more about your child's behavior whether they have autistic or not, or wants to determine the intensity of support of your child's needs, should listen to this book. It identifies the 3 levels of autism for you and guides you with many...many ways to support and tips to help your child and help you to understand your child better. I feel like even you don't have an autistic child. This is also helpful because, in some of the situations mentioned here, the regular kids can act the same way and it can be extra helpful with those strategies.

Great resource for parents

This book has everything you need if you have or suspect you have a child with high functioning autism.
The author has put together information and helpful tips to understand your child. They have provided information which helps you understand what is happening from the autistic child's perspective.

You can also find out how the diagnosis procedure works, if you have not got to that stage yet. I really liked the chapter where the author has provided information on what help and support is available for siblings of the child with asd...which is really important.

Overall a great book!

A great tool for anyone wanting to learn!

Although this is a parents guide, I found this audiobook extremely insightful for my work with autistic children and teenagers. The author provides a really calming and understanding approach to working with high functioning, autistic children and the tips that she provided were really helpful in my profession. There is also a free guide attached to help with sleeping techniques which was an additional helpful tool. I highly recommend if you're a parent or professional wanting to understand the best strategies to support a high functioning autistic child!

Excellent information

This book must be a godsend for any parents with an autistic child. I am in my sixties and only realized I have some autistic traits, well an ex-girlfriend that happened to work with autistic children, pointed out. so did further research to find how right she was. Had always thought of myself as a little different, especially needing my own space and preferring my own company. I was always noticing things that weren't perfectly level, and having to do something in a certain way. It was this little thing that she picked up on. we have a son that's now 35 and exactly the same as me. So I can imagine how bad it can be for a child that's got many of the traits.

So this book is going to be a tremendous help for parents overcoming the challenges that parents are faced with in raising an autistic child.

Informative!

I was interested in this audio book as a close friend of mine has an autistic child and I wanted to be able to help her with childminding so that she could take a break. The content in this book is eye opening and I learned so much throughout each chapter that I know I will be able to put into practice and I now feel better equipped to offer a helping hand. I now have some techniques in my armour to calm him down if he has tantrums and I also know what mistakes I've been making so far too. A great guide for not just parents but also close friends and family members with an autistic child in their circle.
