    Please Note the LISTENER DISCLAIMER!!!

Episode Description: In this episode of the Be A Better You Podcast, we’re exploring the deep-seated belief that so many people carry—“Why can’t I ever be good enough?” that was shared by a listener. This thought often leads to cycles of rumination, especially for those who have experienced narcissistic or emotional abuse. If you’ve found yourself constantly replaying moments, questioning your worth, or feeling like you’re never quite “enough,” this episode is for you.

Through a powerful personal story, I share the moment when I was faced with this belief in my own life. During my marriage, I constantly found myself striving to be “good enough” for my ex, even when it felt like nothing would ever satisfy him. In this episode, I recount a particularly emotional experience that is proof that when you ruminate on "not good enough" you may turn to unbecoming or harmful behaviors just to feel worthy.

    ***Listener Disclaimer:
This episode contains an emotionally charged story involving the death of an animal. I know this may be upsetting to some listeners, so please take care as you listen. My goal is to share this story as a way to shed light on the deeper struggles behind rumination, but I want you to feel prepared for this content in case it’s a sensitive topic for you.

What You’ll Learn in This Episode:

    • How feelings of “not being good enough” create a loop of rumination.
    • How that rumination can lead to unwanted and harmful behaviors.
    • Why this belief keeps us tied to past events and emotional pain.
    • How to start recognizing and questioning the subconscious beliefs that fuel rumination.
    • A reflection exercise to help you identify the core beliefs behind your own recurring thoughts.

Plus: Join me on December 11 at 7 PM EST for a special Break Free from Rumination training session, where I’ll teach you specific tools to stop rumination and uncover the beliefs keeping you stuck. After the training, you can also join an exclusive $10 discovery upgrade session to get personalized help uncovering your own unique patterns.

"Why You Can’t Stop Thinking About It"

In this episode of the Be A Better You Podcast, we explore why so many people struggle to stop thinking about their ex, especially after experiencing narcissistic abuse, emotional abuse, or trauma bonds. If you're tired of the endless mental loops and intrusive thoughts, this episode will help you understand the science behind why your brain keeps you stuck. We'll dive into the role of unresolved emotions, subconscious attachments, and the brain's reward system, which can make even painful memories feel familiar—and harder to let go.

You'll learn how neural pathways are formed and why it's not just the memories themselves, but the emotional charge behind them, that keeps you ruminating. I’ll also explain how to rewire these pathways and break free from the toxic patterns that keep you tethered to the past.

As part of this episode, I'm asking for you to be highlighted in my next episode to identify the most common thoughts you have about your ex. Plus, I’m excited to announce my upcoming free Zoom event on December 11, How to Stop Thinking of Your Ex in Under 90 Days, where you will be learning about the powerful techniques to stop rumination for good. Don’t miss out—tune in now and start your journey to mental freedom!

  • Fantasy Ruminations that Keep You Stuck
    Oct 29 2024

    Send us a text

In this episode of The Better You Podcast, we dive deep into a sneaky form of rumination that you might not even realize you’re trapped in—fantasy ruminations. These are the vivid, imaginative stories your mind creates, where your ex is living their best life without you, down to the tiniest details like the wine they drink or the clothes they wear. This is a very common behavior for survivors of domestic and narcissistic abuse. Even though these scenarios are entirely fictional, they still hold incredible power over your emotions and keep you stuck. But why does your mind create these stories, and how can you finally break free? Tune in to explore how these "mental movies" may be holding you back from true healing.

You’ll discover the key difference between repetitive thoughts and creative ruminations, and why your brain gets caught up in these loops. I’ll share a powerful metaphor to help you see these fantasies for what they are and, more importantly, give you practical steps to stop the cycle. And if you’re ready to go deeper, I’ll also tell you about an amazing opportunity to join my Radiate and Rise community and unlock an exclusive offer for my I'm Worthy Immersion Program, designed to build the self-worth that’s essential for ending these rumination patterns once and for all.
