About this listen
There is something about Phoenix Wolf that won't stop tempting her. Something magnetic. Something so tempting she can't pull away.
Phoenix Wolf hates being human. If it were up to him, he'd stay in his wolf form in the wilderness for the rest of his life. But it's not up to him. It's up to the forest fire that nearly killed him, forcing him and his siblings to venture into Portland, Oregon for medical attention. While he's healing, his body forced into its human form, Phoenix does everything he can shut out the world. But he can't shut out the hot little redhead who has been assigned to be his mentor while he acclimates to life as a human.
Ida knows better than to ever get involved with a client. Especially one with daggers for eyes and whose jawline could slice a girl in half. But there is something about Phoenix Wolf that won't stop tempting her. Something magnetic. Something so tempting she can't pull away. When a sinister presence threatens to separate them, they have to decide: Will they be together or fall apart?
This is the fourth book in the Forbidden Shifters series, but can also be listened to as a stand-alone. No cliff-hangers. Happily ever after guaranteed. For adults only.

SO Good!!
A Mate for Phoenix is a marvelous addition to the Forbidden Shifters series. It's wonderfully written, very well-plotted, and engaging shifter paranormal romance. It dives into the aftermath of the shifter's freedom, where the threat of capture and imprisonment doesn't constantly loom over their heads. Of course, the government continues to have its own agenda. Phoenix, a wolf shifter from the wilderness, was terribly injured in the fire; his siblings took a drastic step to save his life. Now, living in a facility in the civilized world, amongst humans, getting much-needed medical care while stuck in his human skin. Phoenix is suffering both emotionally and physically; aside from needing physical therapy, he cannot shift into his wolf form.
Phoenix and his siblings must now acclimatize to the human world and assimilate into society. Ida, a beautiful redhead with a compassionate heart, has been assigned a new case, helping Phoenix integrate, guide, and provide him with skills to make it in the human world. Sparks fly between Phoenix and Ida; the attraction is positively undeniable, and the chemistry is charged. Loved their interactions, and at times, I couldn't wipe the smile of-off my face. Phoenix essentially lived as a wolf with only a basic understanding of human communication; I was totally charmed by the innocence of the concept. I can't wait to listen to Orion's story; I just know it's going to be great.
The character development is phenomenal; the cast is relatable, diverse, with distinct personalities, complicated emotions, and realistic responses. A Mate for Phoenix was a gratifying listen with a riveting storyline, packed with emotional turmoil, angst, intrigue, dangerous enemies, suspense, steam, surprising twists, and turns. Craig A. Hart's narration made the story even more enjoyable. His portrayal of the characters was flawless, capturing their emotions and connection. He literally brought Selena Scott's words to life; I could feel the intensity and excitement of the scenes. A Mate for Phoenix was a fantastic listen, one I highly recommend.
