About this listen

This bundle includes A Pebble for Lewis and An Egg for Ansel

A Pebble for Lewis: Lewis has never been kissed.

Omega penguin shifters aren’t allowed any physical contact with an alpha until their Pebble Gifting Season, when alphas present a pebble to their desired mate. Lewis has always followed the rules.

Until he meets Todd. A polar bear shifter.

Everyone knows that polar bear shifters are unreliable players who don’t mate for life. But Todd is breathtakingly beautiful, with a body as big as a mountain and a head of thick, white hair. Lewis can’t manage to look away.

In Anchorage, Alaska, where penguin shifters and polar bear shifters have been at odds for over a century, even a friendship between Todd and Lewis is forbidden. But as Lewis’s Pebble Gifting Season draws closer, their forbidden friendship turns into a passion neither of them can ignore.

A Pebble for Lewis is a 37,000-word best-friends-to-lovers romance with a size difference, knotting, and MPreg of the penguin egg variety. It’s set in the same world as the Heron Manor series, but it stands alone.

An Egg for Ansel: Ansel has a thing for older men.

Specifically, his friend’s father Daniel, a penguin shifter who is surprisingly innocent for a 47-year-old man. Ansel probably shouldn’t flirt with Daniel. Or go on a date with him. Or send him photos that Daniel claims are “irresponsible.” But Daniel’s so cute when he blushes, and it’s just a bit of fun. Ansel’s learned that men only want one thing from him, and then they’re gone.

But Daniel doesn’t leave.

In fact, Daniel wants nothing more than to love and take care of Ansel. But Daniel is an omega, just like Ansel, and in polar bear shifter culture a “blood-bond” can only exist between two people who have a child that is genetically related to both of them. If he asks Ansel to be his mate, will he be able to make Ansel happy? Or will he be just one more guy who asks Ansel to settle for less than what he truly wants?

An Egg for Ansel is a second-chance age-gap romance with plenty of lace, cuddling, and MPreg of the penguin egg variety. It’s the second book in the Alaskan Pebble Gifters series, and will only make sense if you’ve listened to the first book.

Sweet and emotional

Lewis and Todd’s story was so sweet. My heart melted when Lewis was reading Todd’s portfolio. Beautiful story with a cute ending.

Ansel and Daniel’s story was emotional. Daniel served a HEA that he finally got one.

Narrator was brilliant and made the characters and their emotion come alive.

A sweet set of mpreggy romances

A Pebble for Lewis: 4/5

Lewis and Todd's shifter romance was really sweet, and I especially loved that I got to experience several stages of their relationship. When Lewis and Todd first met, I had no idea what to expect from their romance. As two different shifter species, they grew up with entirely separate cultures that didn't mingle often. I was excited about seeing Todd and Lewis bridge the cultural divide to be together, but I wasn't a fan of the way polar bears and penguins looked down on each other. So much of this story centered around the stereotypes each shifter had, and it did get frustrating to hear Lewis and Todd talk in circles about how they couldn't possibly be together because of their differences. I wanted the two of them to actively find ways to be together instead of setting themselves up for failure, and while they did eventually get around to that it took much longer than I wanted. Once they had decided to openly date each other, this story was much more enjoyable for me to listen to. It was fun to see Lewis and Todd take part in each other's courting customs, and seeing their friends and family come around to their pairing made it even sweeter. I wasn't expecting this story to continue all the way into Lewis and Todd's parenthood, but it was a fitting way to demonstrate just how serious they were about each other.

An Egg for Ansel: 5/5

Ansel was such a flirty, spirited guy in Lewis and Todd's story, and I was really curious to see how his own romance would unfold. His story was every bit as lively and fun as Ansel himself, and I loved the way he shook up Daniel's world. Sure, he and Daniel didn't have a long-running history together, but that only made me feel closer to them because I got to experience every aspect of their changing relationship. From Ansel's lacey lingerie to Daniel's unexpected nurturing side, these two were absolutely adorable together. To my delight, this story focused much more on the relationship than the fact that these shifters were from different species. It was such a joy to see Ansel and Daniel grow together, and the fact that their relationship survived huge changes to their personal lives made me sure these two were committed to each other. Just when I started to think there was no way Ansel and Daniel could have the family they'd dreamed of, Todd came through with a bit of magic to ease the way. As if this story wasn't sweet enough, seeing how happy Daniel and Ansel were to be parents made my heart melt into a puddle. I can't imagine a happier ending for this couple, and I know their bond will stay strong forever.

Loved this Bundle!!

The Stories: I so really enjoyed these stories. I love the Heron Manor world. Todd and Lewis are so so cute together. The birthing scene was for sure a new experience. 😳 I was a little reluctant to hear Daniel’s story with Ansel but I’m so happy I continue. It was such a touching story with what Daniel went through in his previous relationship. Ansel is definitely what he needed. I will definitely continue with this series.

The Narration: Drew did such a great job making these character voices different. I was never lost on who was speaking.

My first EggPreg and I really enjoyed it

I didn't know what to expect from this as it was my first EggPreg, but I really enjoyed the separation of societies between polar bear and penguin shifters and how willing and able Lewis and Todd were willing to push the norms of society aside and both ask and demand in some instances, what they wanted. It was very romantic and highly motivating.

Ansel and Daniel were adorable together. I worried for a moment that this would be full of miscommunication, but it wasn't at all. It was well planned and the two men were able to work through their initial hesitations without much stress. Another great listen!

Sweet stories in a well developed society.

I really enjoyed both books when reading them and just as much when listening to them - Drew Bacca does a great job bringing them to life.

Amy Bellows does a great job of showing us this world where both polar bear and penguin shifters live together, but separated by customs and attitudes.

In the first book, A Pebble for Lewis, both Lewis and Todd are adorable. We really see the difference between the two shifter societies - with Lewis untouched before he meets Todd because this is what penguins do. I love how Todd treats Lewis, and how he learns things about the penguin shifter customs and society just for Lewis.

In An Egg for Ansel the two characters are just as sweet. We meet both of them in the first book, and again the men are fighting against shifter customs for their relationship. Ansel and Daniel deserve nothing more than a wonderful loving relationship and I’m so glad that they fight customs to get that.

Nice mpreg bundle!

I enjoyed both stories. Alaskan shifters in love. Todd and Lewis, from friends to lovers. Shifters from different worlds find their one and making a family. And Daniel and Ansel with their difference in ages also found love in a beautiful place. Great listen!

And it starts...

When this series was first published I was totally blown away by the great worldbuilding and all the loveable characters. The nesting scnes are epic. The narration by Drew was spot on and brings the dynamic and atmosphere of the writings by Amy even more to life.

Loved them both

I loved both these stories. That's saying something, because I usually avoid age-gap, and they are not one of my go-to tropes. I loved Daniel and his naivete. I was so sorry for him from the first book and the way his alpha abandoned him when he couldn't have any more chicks. How awful to face the grief of loss of your babies then to have a douche-bag mate abandon you! I felt for Ansel, too, not having anyone see him as mate material. I liked both books, but I actually enjoyed the story of Daniel and Ansel more. I love the world. The nesting was so funny, especially with the desolation of the pillows. The stories are fantastic, filled with love and humor. I loved the way Lewis and Ansel became friends and not rivals.

Drew is a great narrator. He did a fantastic job with the voices and emotions. He gave each character a voice that really suited them. For example, proud and stoic for Daniel, and fun and flirty for Ansel.
