About this listen
Live bait makes all the difference.
Sent on a mission to lure Budapest's vampire Overlord into a trap, Connie Bence is instead caught red-handed by the dark Casanova.
Her employer has concrete proof of the dubious leader's misdeeds but she is surprised when this ruthless killer, Rurik, offers her protection and rescues her from his own kind. It plants seeds of doubt in her mind and she begins to question his guilt.
Now she is thrown into his world where blackmail determines her every move and where she must betray those she cares about or let them die. The stakes are high. She either puts her trust in Rurik or leads him to his execution.
Love or life.

Take the bait and be enthralled
What made the experience of listening to BAIT the most enjoyable?
The Angler series is one of my favorites, though this is my first time listening to the audio book. The combination of Jennifer O'Donnell's almost languid delivery and fabulous accents added a lot to my enjoyment and I look forward to re-listening in the future.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I've always loved Tane. He's such a complex character with a long, fascinating past. He at times comes across as absolutely ruthless, really evil and soulless - and I love a bad, baddie! There are glimpses of his humour and loving nature, just enough to tease without satisfying my hunger. ;-)
Have you listened to any of Jennifer O'Donnell’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No, I will look out for her in future as her slow measured delivery, fantastic accents, (I love the way she rolls her 'Rs') and differing voices brought a new dimension to the story for me.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I must confess I shed a tear as Connie relives her last days with her husband. Set in such surreal circumstances, it heightened the tension and pain of the surrounding scenes.
Any additional comments?
I love Annie Nicholas books and have read many. I look forward to listening or reading the others very much.

Interesting book
This book is wee written, the narrative is strong and our hero is in the deep end from the start. The twists just keep coming, enjoyed the run.
