Editors Select, October 2016 - I was heartbroken to hear that my favorite romance series - Beautiful Bastard ("BB") by writing duo Christina Lauren - was coming to an end. Beautiful, the tenth and final book, features Jensen and Pippa, who, for better or worse, have both been shaped by breakups. After meeting on a plane, the two unexpectedly find themselves coupled off on a New England wine trip with some BB fan-favorite characters. Beautiful is the most relatable BB novel - it's easy to find yourself in Pippa's proclivity to embarrass herself and Jensen's work-related neuroses. Loyal fans are rewarded with sweet vignettes at the end of the novel from each couple in the series, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we haven't seen the last of them. Katie, Audible Editor

A little disappointing
I was so looking forward to this Beautiful Bastard finale, and I've got to say I was slightly disappointed. I've read and enjoyed all the previous books in the series immensely, but I just couldn't seem to gel with Jensen and Pippa. The story is good, the writing excellent, but I didn't feel the love so to speak. They were opposites and we all know opposites attract, and it would appear the attraction was there, even the passion was there, there was just something missing between them, and I can't seem to put my finger on it. There were funny bits, seriously funny bits and sexy bits that kept the book alive for me. I was really rooting for their HEA, Jenson (Sebastian York)I loved, but Pippa (Grace Grant) wound me up for some unexplainable reason. I found I was more invested in hearing about all the other characters in the story rather than Pippa. I also loved the epilogues from the previous couples. For this reason I'm giving it four stars.

A nice finish.
What can I say, this was a really nice way to finish the series. The ending segments were the cherry on top.

Can’t get enough of Beautiful
I am so in love with the whole of the Beautiful series and whenever I’m feeling low they cheer me up and remind me that joy exists. No matter how many times I listen to these stories they never fail to get me invested, make me laugh and fill me full of longing for the characters’ relationships to turn out well. The humour is excellent, the female characters are whip-smart and own their sexuality in a way most of us only dream of ( a great encourager to younger women). The men are both smart and sexy, but also absent misogyny ( a great guide for men everywhere!!). Perfectly flawed, hot as hell.
This final book brings the disillusioned and seemingly mismatched Jenson and Pippa together in a holiday romance/partners in crime story that has you cringing at the start but cheering for by the end. But the cherry on top has to be where all the Beautiful characters gather around Chloe and Bennet together in a great finale. Superb!!

A beautiful story and The perfect epilogue
As with all the books in this series Jenson and Pippa's story was fun, laugh out loud funny, sexy, sad, heartbreaking and truly lovely ...
I'm heartbroken to see the end of this fabulous series 😔every character and every story deserved 5* but if I had to choose a couple and two characters who will remain with me then Bennett and Chloe would definitely win the top prize .. the beautiful bastard and the beautiful bitch ' just brilliant'. Grace Grant and Sebastian York were outstanding on this and many of the series !!! I can see that I'll be revisiting the series again soon .. thank you Christina Lauren 👏🏻👏🏻

Beautiful ending
The English accent can be a bit wearing at times. Less romantic than some in the series. Overall great story from familiar writers at this point - who never let us down.

Fun story marred by poor British English and terrible accent
I love this series, and the funny, cute and sexy world these authors have created. I appreciate the English characters. But in contrast with the way Max was written and narrated on audio, Pippa was a fail. I so wanted to lime her - and what worked about her was wonderful (her crazy oversharing, her blunt and funny honesty about herself, her zaniness with an undertone of seriousness). But she was let down by the language she uses and the narration on the audio.
Her language is partly English but she uses Americanisms for words a girl who’s grown up in London and never lived elsewhere would not, even one with an American mother. Examples: purse, closet, solicitor (it means a lawyer in British English), suspenders (that’s the type of sexy lingerie Chloe wears). These are grating details, and would be easily fixed if Christina Lauren used an English proofreader for their English characters.
The greater problem for this audiobook is Grace Grant’s excruciating English accent. It’s painful. All over place and just plain wrong. It’s like listening to Dirk Van Dyke mangling a cockney accent in Mary Poppins. Seriously, US authors and publishers, if you’re going to use British characters, do it right. Jonathan Cole, for example, is perfect.
