About this listen
“Don’t...bleed for me.” (The Unknown)
Saying "don’t" around Jack Harrison always did lead him into dangerous grounds on London streets. But now someone knows Jack’s head inside and out, and they’re about to twist all perception and lead him into an underground depravity that nearly sent him down in his youth. As Jack slips further into a dark psychological minefield, only two men offer different paths back to sanity: Gray, a man who knows Jack’s every dark thought, and Jan, the first man to show Jack a “soft lad” approach to head and heart. But with deadly games and ghosts bleeding through into Jack’s reality, it’s a fight to see who out of the three of them will survive long enough to find a way out of the vicious game played by someone known only as...the Unknown.

Better the second time around.
I read Don't.. as it got re-released, and I loved it completely. So I was overjoyed when it was to come as audio too because our men needs a voice and what a voice they were given.
Dan gave Jack that roughness he needed, Jan's soft touch and made Gray, Gray. And through the book I could hear the difference in characters, giving each person their own characteristics. Though Ed's voice was something else and it just fit him, I loved it.
Don't.. is a heavy book to start with, and I remember struggling the first chapters to even wrap my head around what was going on, as it seems a bit of a head fuck. And you use so much focus on keeping up with the story you miss the details, which is why it's a book that needs to be read or listened to twice.
As I went through it again it all made more sense from the start and I just enjoyed it more. I recommend to come back to Don't.. when you've read a few more books in the series, just to get a breather when things were easier.

Wow! Dark journey...
Don’t is a dark romance book and kind of a thriller. Jack had a rough past. He has been psychologically tormented. It took me a bit to understand where Jack was coming from, what the Unknown was... While Jan came into his life as a customer, he also stayed romantically. Jack is into BDSM and Jan wanted to learn what made him tick. Along the way Gray, who is an important figure for Jack, comes into the woven web to help Jan understand and train him as a Dom and help Jack with his troubles. There are all sorts of misunderstandings and of course the suspense from not knowing when the Unknown would attack and who he was. Id he even existed. Dark and gritty but with a light at the end of the long tunnel. I enjoyed this story, and also his narrator. Great job Mr Calley.

Good thriller, excellent narration
I don't often listen to audiobooks without having read the book first, but this was an exception. I have to say, I had no idea what was going to happen - I like to be surprised when I'm reading a thriller, so it definitely worked for me. The narration was great, too (as a Brit, I did find it a bit odd for the characters to keep saying 'ass' instead of 'arse', but if that's the way it's written, that's the way it has to be said!). I'm a little wary of reading the next one yet, as it looks like it's going to be pretty dark, but this one was so compelling, and the narration so good, that I doubt I'll hold out for long.

Brilliant, and disturbing
If I can say one thing about this story it's that you won't have come across one like this before. It says its dark and psychological and its not wrong. It is also a brilliant story. The dark and disturbing part comes from the mental health disorders suffered by main character Jack Harrison. There is no gratuitous violence or deeply disturbing sexual practices, just normal violence and sexual practices ;-) It is a very well written and well paced story. I read it when it first came out and now, in audio, it is brought to life by the excellent narration of Dan Calley. He was a new to me narrator but he is one of those people who could read me the phone book. Perhaps its because he is, or at least sounds like, a native Londoner like myself. But as a Londoner whe has moved to Wales I can tell you his Welsh accent is pretty good too!
And on top of all this the book also has some comedy moments!
Basically all I can say is Don't...... listen to this book!

An absolutely thrilling ride !!
l really want to say that, this story is not for the faint hearted.
It is Dark, it will have your heart in a vice, but your body on overdrive.
The whole time listening, l felt like the ground was shifting under me,
l just didn't know what to expect next.
l didn't know if the unknown voice was in Jack's head or real, l wasn't sure
what was his reality or fantasy. lt was a complete rollercoaster of a ride.
Everytime l gasped out loud l would get funny looks from my fellow passengers.
The writing is just so beautiful, the story she has woven is complex and thrilling,
and the characters multi dimensional. Being a Londoner l felt a deeper connection
with the story, l knew the places, and completely understood the sarcasm and innuendos.
The narrator did an amazing job bringing the story to life, l think he did exceptionally
well with so many different ages and accents . l looked forward to listening to his voice,
he gave me chills time and time again.

DO listen to this audiobook
Wow, just wow. First off I am a massive fan of this series and Jack's writing, so when it was in audio, sign me up baby!
I've read the book more times than I care to remember, so to hear the characters speaking the words was amazing. From the first words being spoken I was hooked on Dan's voice, he really did a fantastic job of bringing this cast of characters to life. from the brashness of Jack H, the gentle 'soft lad' Jan and then Gray. I was driving when he first said the word "Don't" and let's just say it was very distracting! How I'd never realised he had such a gentle tone to his voice is a mystery to me, but knowing this character I was listening so intently to every word he spoke, hearing the way he exerts such control over a world that is sometimes so out of contro was amazing.
I am looking forward to hearing more from Dan and his amazing vocal talents in the rest of the series.
Can we keep him? PLEASE?!

Wow....where to start??
This book was nothing like what I’ve read/listened to before. There are so many genres being hit in this storyline. By far this is the hottest M/M book I’ve read/listened too. Or M/M/M!! Great narration from Dan. Straight onto book 2!

Intense
A very intense and powerful book.
And the narrator managed to make the characters' voices easily distinguishable despite how different they are.
Can't wait for the next book to become available on Audible.

💚💜💙
I received this audiobook by the author and this is my honest opinion.💛
First of all before I even listened 🎶 to one word of this book, this would be a hard sale for me and had a mountain to climb to impress me as I don't really do audio books for the main fact is either they are not to my imagination or I just can't follow the story. But I had to try this one, I've loved💘 these characters from the start and for someone to actually breath and give voice to these stunning 😘characters was just too great a temptation for my abhorrent of being read too.
The moment I heard a gravelly cockney voice I was hooked, it was just like Jack had stepped off the page and was whispering in my ear, seductively, like😜. Grays voice was hubba hubba, with his Queens English toff voice💂. You knew it was one person bringing these voices to life yet he made each unique and separate from the others. It was funny really that when you read books yourself you tend to say a name how you think it sounds and then are completely surprised it is in fact said entirely different😀.
I wasn't a fan of Jans voice to begin with as it threw me out of what I was expecting but it grew on me. Likewise for Steve and Sam's voice. All in all I enjoyed listening to this story and it made me fall in love with these trio and surrounding characters.
