Well interesting is definitely one word you can use for this book 😂😂

I actually assumed it would be roughly the same as War Bride, just told slightly differently. But the truth of it is, where there many be mentions of Magisteria, it's not at all!!

To be honest, if you forget the sexual side of it for a minute, it's about a young lady just entering her courting stage ready for marriage.

This comes about through a guardian chosen by her parents and the suitors he chooses for her. But then she does something wrong and is instead arrested and thoroughly punished.

That's all I'm going to say though, as that's enough to gain your interest and hopefully buy the book.

However, should you be offended by sexual content, I would advise that you take a minute before clicking buy. The reason being that there is a good few mentions of sexual activity, in the slightly graphic way.

There's also a lot of degradation and humiliation happening. So if you can't deal with such, trust me when I say that this book is not for you at all!!

As well as reading the book, there is also audio available for this book. It's the reason I started this book and not the second one.

I must admit that I don't understand as to why she's had the audio done for books three and four, yet not for one or two first. Although War Bride is out for pre-order!! It really is an odd way of doing it and i cannot even fathom the thinking behind it!!!! 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Anyhoo onto the narrators. It does seem of late that I'm coming across a lot of new narrators I've never heard of lately and I've got to admit I've been impressed by them all.

The same goes for these two!! Narrating on behalf of Helena and the other women is Vanessa Kitchens and on behalf of Gerard and all the other men is Mace Earl Finn.

Now I do love this sort of narrative, where the man does all male voices and vice versa. As opposed to the majority. Where the men attempt to make their voices feminine and the women attempting to make their voices feel enough for the male parts!!

The guys never pull it off though, or at least not the majority!!

However, as I've stated, Mace did the male and the Vanessa the female voices and it was narrated brilliantly.

The only thing is when Vanessa did the moans of "pleasure," they really didn't come across quite right. If anything it reminded me of the way my grandmother would say , " On no, " when she accidentally dropped something, as opposed to breathy moans. 🤔🤔

But Mace kind of made up for it in a big way!! Now he i could believe was in the throes of wild abandonment 🙈🙉🙈🙉

They really did a great job though and worked absolutely brilliantly together. Plenty of personality within the characters and depth too. I completely enjoyed listening to them, while reading the book. Making the characters come to life and leap off the page.

However, as this book is as aforementioned, sexual in parts, don't bother with t the audio if you can't deal. After all the narration only helps being it some life....well maybe not from Helena eh lmao😂😂

A thousand percent recommended for both!!
