About this listen
Be careful what you wish for....
Once upon a time there was a totally ordinary boy who fell for a cold, beautiful prince. Only it's not a fairy tale, it's my life. The prince is a billionaire called Caspian Hart. And we're trying super hard to live happily ever after. He's everything I want, need, and can't resist: a man who looks like a god and bangs like the devil.
Except he's still got his rules and he's still got his secrets...But if there's one thing Caspian's taught me it's that you should never settle for less than you're worth. And I'm worth his trust. I have to show him that I see him. That I'm not afraid of his passion, or his power, or his past. And that I won't settle for less than everything.

amazing amazing amazing...
Enjoyed this more than the first. Further development or Arden and Caspian. Even Ellery who to be honest got on my nerves in the first book but who I grew to love so subtly it actually took me by surprise at the end. There is a bit of a chunk where Caspian and Arden are apart which, if I'm honest I found frustrating, but I still love the story and the characters and it's definitely one of my favourites. I cannot wait for part 3 and hope it brings together our boys no holds barred at last as the cliffhanger on this one was painful. But I trust the author fully to make the finale worth waiting for. I love that both Arden and Caspian are so humanly flawed, that the author makes your opinion of who is right or who you empathise with sway back and forth. It's so realistic and enjoyable. Arden isn't a do-all good-all flawless thing he messes up and he knows it but he muddles through like we all do. And I think Caspian, although it's not told from his perspective comes across clearly how desperately he wants to be open and loved but is too scared to let himself. So real and flawed and wonderful. Hurry up part 3 please :)

Great book again, just like the first in the trilogy
Really enjoyed this book ..just wish I’d realised it was a trilogy when I bought the first one as I now need to wait a few months for the final book.
It’s like 50 shades, but m/m, and alluding to BDSM rather than it actually happening. It’s got the tortured mysterious love interest with intimacy issues and the young open character in the process of finding their place in the world. All the ups and downs and emotional development you want to draw you completely into the book and their relationship.
The writing is really good and the narration excellent so I listened to it all pretty much in one sitting. It’s better than pretty much every romance novel I’ve listened to in m/f or m/m genres, and I’ve listened to way over 1000 books.
Joel Leslie is an especially good narrator when doing British accents so this series suits him perfectly.
Got a book hangover now and no idea what to listen to next as all I want is the final book in this series...

More brilliant writing and an intuitive performance by the narrator
How can you leave it like this, Alexis Hall? And how can we possibly wait to see what life has in store for Arden and Caspian?
As the layers peel away we see more of the tormented soul of Caspian and realise that his redemption can only lie with Arden, who by the way, completely ‘gets’ him.
I love Alexis Hall’s brilliant, intelligent writing. He has me giggling and crying in turn at the slightly gauche Arden, a beautiful boy, brought up in an unconventional home but who has a deeply empathetic, non judgmental nature.
I cannot wait for the third and final instalment in this deeply moving but very dark story. I loved it. Also, I don’t know whether the author had any input in choosing his voice actor but he’s superb.
