About this listen

He's everything I've never wanted - too young, too weird, too wild.

I wasn't impressed that I had to get my weekly massage from a guy with a toe ring. But when I discovered David Cooke's skills as a masseur were literally orgasmic, I couldn't stop thinking about him and his amazing hands, day and night. Especially at night.

He's full of surprises. And despite my bad behavior, David's just as eager to explore this chemistry between us. Turns out, there's a lot more to him than hemp pants and tattoos. If he's so wrong for me, why does being with him feel so right?

Fabulously entertaining

I love how L.B Gregg was able to pack a huge story into a short novel. These characters were so good I wish there was more. Great narration by Shannon Gunn.

It's like having Jack Bauer teach nursery school

What would have made Men of Smithfield: Seth and David better?

The story could do a bit of re-working. The tone and arrogance of Seth is lost in non-eventful plot devices. Two issues happen and they aren't explored or exploited which made this story fall in my opinion.

What will your next listen be?

Retreat: Pandemic

Would you be willing to try another one of Shannon Gunn’s performances?

I have another audiobook of the same author and narrator; Mark and Tony. I just hope it's better but given the same length, I can imagine it might be the same.

What character would you cut from Men of Smithfield: Seth and David?

Quinn, he's the probably the least important and most dull. But so is Ben Martin. They need to be more threatening to have any point in the plot.

Any additional comments?

My reference to Jack Bauer is that Shannon does well to tone and angry, masculine and arrogant character and yet this isn't utilised in the plot. He keeps thinking "Oh, I want to kick the crap out of this guy" etc but by the end, he is as lethal as a snail.

The only plus side to this story is Shannon's narration to the erotic scenes. They can be quite excitable.
